Like I said in the email ...... this was not Billy's first Yellowfin Tuna. He caught three on a floater trip in November, 2011.

Not sure why he was eating the heart but it made for a good story.

All is not fair in Love and Tuna fishing. There were some really awesome fishermen that fished hard and went home without YFT. Been there, done that. But on this particular trip lady luck was with me.... evidence the fish that broke off at the gaff after sounding and going under the boat. And then what happens? My line gets hung up in the wheel and the fish couldn't go anywhere and is then gaffed on the opposite side of the boat. I got my Maguroni back and everything ... whew! This was my second fish by 10 PM the first night.

And then there was the time Joseph, some of the Tuna Mafia and no telling who else had been casting hard for about an hour off the stern corner with no luck and then they decided to sit down and take a break. I walked up and on my second cast I hooked up. They just looked at me and said ..... "you're shi**ing me!"

What a great bunch of guys to share the rail with, I know that Mike, Jim,Pat and myself felt that this was one of best trips we have been on. Not because the fishing was so great,although it was good, but the guys you fish with is what makes or breaks the trip. Thanks to everyone for making this trip special. Looking to hookup agin next year for sure.

did anyone throw swimbaits?

One guy, Pat, Threw a Cali-style worm-king 8" (sardine) & hooked up right next to the boat. fish took him around almost twice till deckhand had me finish it for him.
sometimes you just get those demon-fish.......

Bourbon Marinaded Steak Recipe:

� 1 cup(s) water
� 1/2 cup(s) (packed ) brown sugar
� 1/2 cup(s) bourbon whiskey
� 1/3 cup(s) soy sauce
� 2 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
� 1 tablespoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
� 2 or 3 table spoons of asian chili garlic sauce
� 1 full head of garlic, coarsely chopped
� 1 bunch of green onions, chopped
� 1 teaspoon(s) coarsely ground black pepper
� 1/4 teaspoon(s) hot pepper sauce
� 2 (1 1/2 pounds each) trimmed flank steaks or steak tri-tips (from Sam's Club)*

Directions
1. Prepare marinade: In jumbo self-sealing plastic bag (2 gallons), mix all ingredients except steaks.
2. Add steaks, turning to coat. Seal bag, pressing out excess air. Place bag in shallow glass baking dish and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight (longer if desired, I�ve done up to 4 days), turning bag occasionally.
3. Remove steaks from marinade. Discard marinade. Place steaks on grill over medium heat and cook 15 to 20 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness, turning once. (Or, preheat broiler and place steaks on rack in broiling pan. Broil steaks at closest position to source of heat 15 to 20 minutes for medium-rare.)
4. Transfer steaks to warm large platter, let stand 10 minutes for easier slicing. To serve, cut into thin slices.

Tips & Techniques
*Or, use 2 beef top round steaks, about 1 1/2 inches thick (about 1 1/2 pounds each). Follow recipe for flank steaks, but grill or broil 25 to 30 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness.

I did. I had a hookup that pulled on one of Grandad's mackerel swimbaits. A couple of the Arkansas Tuna Mafia guys were throwing a large swimbait with a tail and they got at least 2 or 3 YFT on them. And Joseph Ycu got one on one of those large Hogy baits about 10" long.

cool! hearing the first video of the fish wanting the sardine fast.. made me think of primetime swimbait fishing!! I cant wait until I can get back in it!!! May be able to sneak one in early and go on the next one... that's close enough to graduation for me hehe! (dec 2013 is graduation)
