Excellent feedback and it is appreciated. I have not tried the fluke, swim bait or spoon. The brush is too dense for the umbrella rig. I know the fluke is a good bait but i never think about it, even though it is always in the boat. I am going to give the tube a chance and the silver minnow w/trailer. I have a bud who loves the swim bait and i know he will give them a chance. I'll let you know. May have to accept the advise from Hog Jaw, sounds like he has been there along with the others in this post.

This has happened to me at lake stamfird a couple of times. One time I just could not get anything to bite. The other time I was all the way at the back of a creek and there was bait everywhere!!! Nothing would hit so I just Got on the big motor and started out of the creek until I found deeper water about halfway out. Not much bait here but I started catching bass! I was throwing a dropshot 4" worm and spinnerbait. I figured the bass were just moving in and out of that cove eating.

I find the only way to get fish to eat in this type of situation is deflection and make lots of casts around the best structure or cover and finally you will get one to react . So you can use bladed swim jigs , cranks , spinner baits , swimbaits etc .

Bomber 5A, white or silver, 6-10 lb mono. Vary the retrieve until you find the right one.

A small sassy shad or lil' fishie will work too.

This and a fluke skipping on the surface. It takes REPEATED cast to get one to react.

I would say forget these fish. I have fished allot of areas like this and all yield few bass... Look for areas where there is a more equal bass to shad ratio.

If you're throwing a top-water and they're not committing, switch to a sub-surface bait, such as a Rapala Sub-Walk, wakebait, etc.... Throw a spinnerbait, buzzbait, fluke, anything that looks like a shad. If you fish more than 25 minutes without so much as a "swipe" at your bait, then most likely, there are no bass present. Hope this helps.
