Not that anytime is a bad time but this cooler weather is making me look forward to mid to late December into late January. Probably my favorite time to throw a jig. Big fish, no crowds and just peaceful fishing. For me there is nothing as addictive as that thump you get on a jig. I would choose it 100 times over topwater fishing(well maybe not frog fishing) but you get my point. I am all about the jig bite come wintertime. Some days I only have jigs tied on.

Its an addiction...I was having this EXACT conversation this weekend...And I will quote myself..."I would rather catch a fish flipping a jig than I would catch one on a topwater"!

I just recently got bit by the jig bug. Been fishing it each time out,roughly since first part of October it has yielded several in the 4 lb range, a 5.4 and 6.5

I've been enjoying it already! There's been a great big fish jig bite for me! I've caught a lot of 1.5-3 pound fish on a smaller jig, as well!

I caught 8 fish yesterday fishing from 1-5pm and 7 were on a jig, def my favorite time of the year!

hey, i am all for getting all the tourists off the water here on table rock. night fishing for the bigger bass is still the best here right now, and a jig is the best bait. if you can hand pick your nights, we will still have some great night fishing during this next moon, and i plan on being out there catching a few big ones.
