Neat Post, I use to fish that same stretch of beach when from when I was 9-12 years old, I use to do pretty good on motor oil colored 1" grubs. There was a run off into the surf somewhere at the time and there were tons of small Cabezon and Halibut in it. That run off was a bit better than the surf at times, and the wind is absolute hell out there!

hey thanks everyone for your really nice comments!
hoping to post up a carping report here from SoCal waters sometime... but I'm not sure it'll live up to Emma Long/Texas waters! haha
it's great to see this forum still so active and spreading our enthusiasm for carping!
really hope everyone is doing well back in Texas!
