I think I have a slab leak. Not exactly sure though. I need someone that has a leak detector. I'm not looking for a freebie, just someone who won't take me to the cleaners price wise.

If its under your slab, you will need a leak dector first. Not all plumbers do this.

shut off all the water in your house, all sinks, dishwasher icemaker toilet valves, water heater ect, so you sure nothing is filling with water, then go look at your water meter. if the little arm (meter), is spinning in the glass.. you have a leak.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

know how you feel as we had to replace our septic lines this year and it runs under the slab because that part of the house was added on much later than the house was built. So we had a long line that went inder the house amd it was a pieced togeter line not even all the same size. It was also much thinner PVC than we used going back amd some roots put enough pressure on the thin wall PVC to have 2 big places (one one each side of the house) ruptured. Looked like some one pieled it apart amd didn't even form a pipe any longer. One guy did it all by his self including pulling the old part out from under the house.
Was not cheap!

What Ketchn said. They had to jackhammer my slab to fix a small leak. Parts were about $8. They charged about $2500 but the insurance paid most of it.

sometimes they can seal off the leak in the slab then run new plastic or pvc lines up thru the attic, then tie back in down a wall . a very effective , less costly repair if its do able.
when I build my next house, it will be pier and beam foundation, so all of the plumbing will be easy to get to if ever needed.

Who ever put my system in did a horrible job and looked more like they used what ever size scrap they had. Who ever it was sure didn't have any pride in their work!

Are they going to jackhammer the slab, or tunnel underneath? You can hire a couple of day laborers to tunnel underneath and refill the hole afterwards. I did this. $200 for tunneling and refilling, $250 plumber repair bill.
