Well that's what you get for paddling down wind of me. It's my musk called Ode de REN You're just mad you got skunked

Launched at 8am temp was 40 degrees. Tried the spot by the the ramp for about 15 minutes with not even a nibble. Motored up the creek hitting every timber I can see & still no bite. They didn't like what I was offering white/chartreuse. Switched to purple w/sparkles fishing shallow & deep still no bites. Saw a lot of recreational yakers & a couple fishing yakers. The creek wasn't too crowded as I expected it to be. Motored further up the creek in search of new honey holes & found 3 new holes. This time offered them hot pink 1 1/2 -2ft under a bobber. They like that presentation & it was game on! Caught well over 40 crappie with only 15 keepers today 8 of which were well over 12". Not sure if they're starting to move in or not, but catching them that shallow in about 6-8ft of water was fun! Also caught a nice number of sunfish. Noticed there were a lot of those trees with red berries on them hanging over the creek. They must be feeding on those berries & that's why they were preferring hot pink color today. Sorry no pics today. Don't want to be accused of showing off. I was fishing a lone, but I had fun nonetheless!

Hitting the creek again in the morning

Just got back from the creek. Didn't catch much today only 7 keepers. All caught at the new hole. Slayed the sunfish though 10 total all were about the size of my hand. They will go into the deep fryer for a little snack. Hit another stump heading back in & had to paddle the rest of the way in head winds. The wind spun me around a few times then I got smart & hugged the banks to keep from spinning.

I'm hoping the wind will chill out sometime this week. I'll probably hit the boat slip for a bit tonight, and may end up beating some creek banks if nothing else.

Dropped my MIL off at the airport around 10am & had nothing else to do. We decided to go window shopping for Niko's Xmas gifts. We ended up at the Parks Mall in Arlington. While walking the mall, I get a text from zombie to go hunt for some crappie. It was decided to go to my "SDSL". It was now 12:30pm & we're still at the mall. Finished up with the mall, I stopped by Academy's to pick up some jig heads. Got home loaded up the "Crappie Machine" & got to the boat launch at 1:15pm. Super late start IMO, but nonetheless I went motoring up the creek & met up with zombie. Also met pontiactech (I think or Bryan???) a fellow TFF'er. I fished with them for a while watching zombie finally pull in a couple of slabs. I motored up the creek some more after little to no bites on vertical jigging. Saw a fishy looking spot & decided to do what I do best jig & bobber. Set my jig to about a foot under my bobber & commence to catching not fishing Zombie finally wised up & followed me up the creek. I told him the depth & color & he too commence to catching as well. We had a blast in the time we had left before we had to leave. The bite kinda slowed down, but they were still biting when we left. My total keepers was 11 crappie + 3 long-ears.

I heard about your trip down there. Those crappie were a bonus. The success was you stayed dry lol.
