MTI Dio. Got it at academy on sale for something like $30.
I always wear mine. Made the first exception on the Brazos a couple weeks ago. The water wasn't fast and was only 4ft or less.
I'd recommend a high back model. I tried sitting in a demo with one that wasn't and couldn't get comfortable.

I always wear mine, not always buckled, but I always have it on. I recently got a Kokotat Bahia Tour PFD because they do not have a bunch of bulky padding on the back which suits the Coosa/Cuda seat just right!

Get a self inflating PDF!! I ALWAYS wear mine when im on the YAk and i forget its even there. They have many options available. They are more expensive then vests but are you really gonna put a price tag on your life? Price them at sporting goods store.

MAYBE CUDADUDE CAN TELL US WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR SELF INFLATABLE GETS SPLASHED OR FALLS IN THE WATER? Strange sound if youve never heard it before.

I wear mine in moving water, cold water, or when I am alone in deep water. I sit on it otherwise.
+1. I tried several of the brands mentioned. I bought an Ascend at BPS because I liked the way it fit as well as any of the others, and it was about $50.

I had an auto inflate PFD, that changed once I dropped it in the water at the bank... not so convenient once that happens. hahaha live and learn That's why I prefer the paddling specific vests now.

I dont think I care for the Autos... not real crazy about the idea something has to function properly to save my life. I prefer the flotation already being there...lol
