Hit a local creek earlier this week to get some Pre front Rios. The bite was good and the Rios were very active searching for food. Fished from 11:30am till 3:00pm and caught 20 nice Rios. The fish were in the 8 to 10 inch range. All fish were caught on bottom techniques using worms. The water was clear to stained with good current and the creek was in good condition. Fish were in schools and were hugging the banks. All fish were released to fight again. With the arrival of this cold front the Rios will be scattered and harder to find. This has been a super year for Rios. fish

I like reading your posts,I know I'll learn something. My Bream fishing skill are pretty basic. I can get some crickets and slay them in the summertime. So when you say bottom techniques are you meaning no bobber and a small weight?

THANKS so much. I'm worried because if this week's any indication, my wife's going to be pretty upset with how much time I'll be spending combing through fish photos. I'm "hooked!" Also a big fan of your posts!

Thanks "Txwhitacre","Crappie Happy", and "TrophyHuntingAndFishing" for your replies. "Txwhitacre": I keep my Sunfish Fishing very very simple and basic. You are right on the set up for the bottom techniques. A size 6 cricket hook with a size 5 shot and a big juicy worm. During certain times of the year when bottoms are fairly clean I love bouncing a worm off of the bottom. Super good results! hooked "TrophyHuntingAndFishing": Thank you sir for the kind words. I just love learning about and catching a very simple fish. thumb Big Sunfish and Nice Rios. No where but TEXAS! texas

Thanks "Gitter" for the reply. You are right the Rios are going to be harder to find! We may still be able to get a few once it warms back up!

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Rios will be harder to find however once it warms up you will still be able to find a few. Once winter sets in they will be very hard to locate until late spring.
