Hey TFF! I just recently got into kayaking. I built a home-made motorcycle trailer in 2008 with the help of my uncle. I'd like to set up my trailer to haul either my bike or kayak(s). Unfortunately I don't have a welder or the welding experience to build the attachment I want to make. Hoping maybe someone on here could help me out or point me in the right direction. Here's a link to the pic of an extremely detailed trailer attachment idea.

What you're planning on doing looks like a very good idea. Hopefully someone can help you with the welding.

Everything you're wanting to do can be done with a drill and a hacksaw at the very basic of levels. You can bolt everything together. OR you can get the material cut it to your lengths and go find your local muffler shop. Those guys would probably stick it together for you right there and usually at a very good cash price. I know my local guy is a handy fellow to know when I need something small and don't want to fiddle with dragging my stuff out.

Good idea DEERSTRANGLER, I think I might try that route. And thanks for posting the pic for me. I'm still trying to decide if I want to keep it like the diagram and load them on their bottoms, or if I want to connect the Vs in the middle with some sort of vertical brace and load them on their sides. What do you guys think?

Depending on the size of your tubing (assuming you are using square tubing?) you might want to consider adding an "X" brace across the middle. Looks like you might have some flex issues. Also, corner braces might be needed. Better to overbuild now than lose a couple grand in boats on the highway!
