Tex....in your opinion, where will the tourney be won? What area? Taylors, if its won on the texas side i'd bet. maybe calcasue (sp??) if the sack comes from la. I'm guessing over 20lbs per day in march to win it.

Neches is my guess, 14-16lbs a day maybe a little more with the right weather

i bet it wont even be won out of the sabine. depending on the off limits area, the fishing area is endless as far as you want to run. I grew up fishing just north of there on the neches. they have louisiana to the east, sabine river system, taylors bayou area, neches river, pine island area. plenty of room +1.... I predict Taylors

Interesting to hear all the opinions. This will definitely be in interesting tourney. If Somebody wants to make the LONG RUN, to the Calcasieu, there is the possibility of some good kicker fish. There has been a moderate effort in the past 5 years of getting the Calcasieu better. I know personally some folks who have been taking all their big fish from other waters and dumping them in the Calcasieu and a few tournaments that dump all the caught fish (from another nearby water) into the Calcasieu. In the past 3 years there has been several fish over 8lb caught in the calc. Those are have all been caught in Feb. March might be a little late, depending on the weather. It would be a major gamble to travel to the Calc, it would easily be 50-60 minutes.
With there not really being an off-limits, this area is just soooo big, and is wide open. The biggest problem i see with this tourney will be anglers running out of fish. Ive fished the Sabine and Calcasieu many many times. There will be the possibility for a 14-15 pound bag, but only for 1 or 2 days. Whoever wins this will be the one who makes the best day to day adjustments and has many spots to fish.

Tex....in your opinion, where will the tourney be won? What area? I think the Neches and Calcasieu will be the big key players. Really anything above the locks/saltwater barriers will be key areas.

I agree the fish do not grow as fast below the saltwater barriers

I didn't think you were supposed to transplant fish into public waters like that
