And to finish the story, all the while I was mesmorized by this seen, my fishing buddy had walked up behind me and saw the whole thing, when I turned around and realized he was there, the look on his face must have been exactly the look on mine ! Pure amazement !

One morning a few years ago a buddy and I pulled up to a spot on Lake Fork.. We saw close to 100 largemouths in a 50yd stretch around scattered grass with their tails fanning just under or out of the water and their noses in the dirt. Very easy to spot as they stood out like a sore thumb... They wouldn't look up or around for anything. They were all blowing dirt and then eating the crawfish they scared out. It only lasted about 30 minutes for the first thing in the morning... But, it was pretty cool to watch.. And all we did was watch because we couldn't seem to get their attention!

Pulled into the back of a creek on Fork one spring.Water was real clear and about 5 feet deep.Must have been 75 bass just milling around.I threw a jerk bait out on a long cast.I was amazed as I watched all of them just ignore it.After three or four cast I finally got one 2 lber to turn and follow the bait.I just keep jerking it slowly under the surface as the fish closed in.Then he came up and inhaled the bait and then spit it out as I was twitching the bait.I saw it plain as day but I never felt a thing on the line.

I was fishing a lake in Mississippi from a John boat. Trolling to another spot with a rapala hanging over the side out of the water. This bass was at least 7 or 8 pounds jumped and inhaled the lure. Startled me when it did and before I could pick the rod up and react it broke the line.

It's an interesting behavior to me when they actually bite my lure!

I was throwing a spinner bait at Toledo Bend when I saw a bass up next to some rocks by an island. I threw the spinnerbait past the the bass and starting reeling it in real slow. The bait got up right next to the bass and startled him so much he jumped out of the water to get away from it.

Some interesting behavior I've experienced, bass coming out of the water to get a hollow body frog hung on tree limb, bass tapping the bottom of a lilly pad to knock a johnson's silver minnow/frog trailor off pad, bass coming out of the water in lilly pad field to come down on baits, a frog's tongue shooting out from a cypress tree to catch a hollow body frog in the air on a cast, a snake catching a 6" worm in the air as cast was going by a hole in a laydown, and the best was being on a school of big fish one fall that were feeding on shad. I had caught several in the five to six lb range on rat-l-traps and spooks, but there was one well over seven lbs that would knock the spook all over the place never taking it. I watched this fish beat up shad til they would lay on the surface and quiver then he would take them head first.

was at falcon this past weekend and the TM go hung up in a gill net. i was trying to get it free and the wind was pushing the boat into a rock ledge sideways. As we got closer I started to lean over to push away from the ledge (I was at the bow) the back of the boat swung to the bank and a 3# bass jump out of the water and landed right in front of the drivers console. About scared the me to death, LOL. Bass is flopping the falls to the bottom fo the boat. I had to push off twice, finally got it free. After I got the boat under control went and picked it up, look at it, said you dumba$$, and chunked it back in the lake. Guess the bass had no place to go but up.

A few weeks ago while pitching some shaded laydowns I was watching a big fat white wing dove getting a drink on a sandy bank right next to a good drop off. At about 6' from the dove i saw a fairly large shadow come outta the deep and run up to get that dove. The dove flew off as the bass busted the surface. All I could think is the fish was lucky as there was no way she could have eaten that bird. 2 days later I caught that fish and she measured out to only 20.25"s still dont think she could have eaten a full sized white wing but she gave it her best effort.
