Kiowa is a private, constant level lake, is why you are getting few responses. It's kind of a retirement golf community. It had an additional stocking, by a handful of locals, of Floridas quite a while back. It used to be one heck of secret. I know a couple of guys that won first and second from Kiowa in every roadrunner tournament their club had. Problem is, used to, the boat had to be registered in the name of the property owner. It's an awesome looking little lake that dumps into Ray Roberts.

Correct... only boats registered to a property owner allowed through the gate.

Kiowa is the best fishing lake I have ever been too. You can go out any day and catch good numbers and most days its not hard to catch a few over 5lbs. My sig pic is a 21 lb sack that was caught in a tournament there. I could post many pictures of fish caught out there over 7lbs. Most tournaments out there you will need over 20lbs to cash a check. They have a tournament just about every month if your a member of the fishing club, you can fish witht the lot owner if he is a member of the club. Boats have to be registered in lot owners name, insured in lot owners name, and have a inspection done by thesecurity there to get a sticker. Right now they have put a 14 day quarinten on boat that leave the lake. the boat will have a lock placed on the eye hook locking it to the trailer after 14 days you can call security to come remove it. They have decided to do that to cut down the chances of zebra muscles.

Also the stocking is not done by locals it is done on a yearly basis. The fishing club buys florida bass, along with having surveys done for baitfish. Last year we bought threadfin and gizzard shad and florida fingerlings. If you have a way to fish the lake it is worth your time for sure.

Hunters dad only catches the little ones out there, but the lake is one of the best in the state. takes 17 to 30 lbs to win a tournament.

Trust me, it is not a constant level lake. I have a landscape company and I have been out there several times in different years where you could walk from boat dock to boat dock and the people with them on lifts were just out of luck. During the summer personal watercraft are evrywhere with kids that do not care if your fishing or not.
