Don't know what area of Texas you are in but Kayak Instruction has tandem and solo fishing boats available every Saturday and Sunday at Paddle Point Park on Lake Ray Hubbard. You can test paddle both and then decide. Kayak Instruction Web Site

Kayaking is a family adventure for us, me,my wife,my son,and Santa Claus is bringing my 5 year old grandson one for Christmas. It's a GREAT way to spend time with the family. Fishing in a kayak is icing on the cake.
