I will be there Friday and will show you a couple of ways to throw the net, one of them from the seated position so you can throw it from the yak. We are going to try and do a video of it at the GTG on Saturday and post it so people can use it to learn with.

WASHINGTON The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will waive day-use fees at its more than 2,400 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in recognition of National Public Lands Day, Sept. 29. This includes the 38 lakes located within the Tulsa District USACE. On this day, fees normally charged at boat launch ramps and swimming beaches will be waived. USACE does not charge entrance fees to its parks.

The waiver does not apply to camping and camping-related services, or fees for specialized facilities such as group picnic shelters. Other agencies and partners that manage recreation areas located on USACE lands are encouraged but not required to comply with this waiver of day-use fees in the areas they manage.

Per the COE FaceBook page!

Is there a registration link or anything I need to do to sign up for this event? It sounds like a lot of fun. I'm very new to kayak fishing and live close by. Would really love to come take part. Really glad to see your group supporting our veterans!

Zombie....what exactly does your list mean?

Also, a reminder, for anyone who wants a free preprinted name tag, submit your call sign and name via the GTG: Who are You? thread.

If u read this late Lone Star Chronicals will have a sharpie and 2 post it notes for u when u arrive.
They will make 2 name taggs for u then stick one on your forehead. If it falls off, you will have to paddle across the lake n back as punishment! you don't want to know what happens if the second one falls off! hammer

How welcome are wives at this type of event? Mine loves to fish, kayaking not so much, but she's very interested in this event.

My wife had as much if not more fun than I did at the April GTG.

My wife is not welcome at all. She better keep her arse back home with the kids and not even think about calling me when I'm fishing or POW to the moon alice!

I'm glad my wife doesn't read these boards or my kitchen pass wouldnt be worth the paper it is not printed on.
