Many years ago I read a marine biology report about fresh water species, the biologist wrote they the LMB was the most aggressive fish in existance as far as feeding habits and will eat absolutely anything they can fit in thier mouths, which over the years I have seen them blow up on all kinds of things swimming inthe water including small baby alligators, ducks, ducklings small birds perched on Lilly pads etc.

His belief was that if LMB grew to the size of sharks that it absolutely would not be safe to swim in fresh water. I have to believe this would be true as well.

I had one on Ray Bob try to eat a 5" trick worm, that was no longer than 3". He wasn't even hooked just had the tail of the worm in it's mouth, and held on long enough for me to get him to eye level. I laughed for half an hour about that.

I have raised around twenty LMB in my aquarium. When one was about 4-5 inches long i was feeding him/her and my dad stopped buy,he watched the feeding and asked if I ever counted how many minnows it would eat(this time it happened to be minnows would feed them mice frogs etc.. when the wife wasn't around).Dad came over for the next feeding and we counted one at a time. These were fairly big compaired to the bass.Ate 21 and was still trying to eat,no more would fit with all the tails sticking out of its mouth!! Can u say gluttony
