Let's see Tawakoni, Texoma and Ray Hubbard please. Tawakoni has the Sherwood Forest and it would be nice to know how it's laid out. Talk about a problem for a first timer when you are flying into the middle of the lake and all of a sudden there's a freaking forest sticking out of the water!! I usually do what Doug said, if I don't know the lake, I don't plane. But I would like to see the underwater layout.
Thank you very much. Tawakoni: Here's those areas of trees and you can see the contours, Road Beds, Creek Channels and Information Areas listed in LakeMaster. North in Dunn Creek By Sycamore Cove Caddo Creek Area Cloud Point Area South Fork of the Sabine River Sun Point Area East Side By the Dam If you need more zoomed in details of the areas I can get them for you. Hopefully the other party will get you images from their product if not I updated my card last night and can get you comparisons.

Thank you very much. Diel11 I fished Tawakoni a couple of weeks ago and can tell you with the water offset Lakemaster is very accurate. I don't have any screen shot to show that but I did find Sherwood Forest (I didn't know that is what it was called at the time) but it wasn't identified on the chip as a wooded area. But it did show up on the paper maps so I had an idea wher it was located. I have both chips and use the Lakemaster one exclusively now because of the features like depth offset and depth range highlights. Both are useful but Lakemaster is just my personal choice. IMO if you have a Humminbird, Lakemaster is the mapping tool of choice.

First I want to announce my name is Dale Logue and I'm the Brand Manager for LakeMaster. I would like to say the LakeMaster position is to purchase both Navionics and LakeMaster chips for your region. Both have unique features and coverage that can benefit the angler.
I know money doesn't come easy and not everyone can spend an extra $125 freely but I consider cartography as an important fishing tool. I probably have several hundred dollars in soft plastics alone but I definitely don't limit myself to only one brand or one color, therefore, have both LakeMaster and Navionics on hand to be able to use either one when it makes sense.

Thank you very much texasbass. The one thing I do is fish inside the Sherwood Forest as there are a couple of spots in there always full of stripers and hybrids. I just upgraded to a 1198c and left my old electronics with the boat I sold, so all my tracks and waypoints inside the forest are gone. I'm thinking I am going to buy another GPS so I can run Lakemaster and Navionics at the same time.

Nice comment Dale. I'll applaud that. We at Navionics have avoided directly marketing and naming products. with this thread as a direct attack and not full disclosure, I have no choice but to defend. Appreciate your stance. I'll buy you another beer at Icast Doug, we will post screenshots shortly. i dont see the trees in the middle of the lake you mention though. i see contours but not sure on where the trees are. seriously, is it labeled differently or? that way i know for future reference and dont keep hitting you with the same comment. Deil, Appreciate the comment. Neither Mike nor I are pro staffers, we dont haveas much time as we would like to post up screenshots but will try and post some shortly for you. We will add a couple extra lakes that are in the area that Lakemaster doesnt have which it is kinda odd that only lakemaster lakes were the ones asked for but we wil lgo above and beyond for you. Dont get me worng, its not attitude (I try to keep a sense of humor about things rather than direct shots but for future reference, I'll take your advise and hope that its seen as simple facts , its just making simple points that get ignored or brushed over. If lakemaster doesnt have it, then just say so. We dont have adjustable colred depth and i admit it. we have shading but not in the same way. Honest answer in comparison for the knowledge of the consumer. If Doug acknowledges that, this thread would be much shorter. Hence, the direct comparsion bullet points above was as direct and simple as it could be but no acknowledgement. My points were, if you dont have it admit it. be honest with the consumer with full disclosure. thats all. Thats not how this went. Sorry you got rubbed the wrong way on this Deil. So to answer, see bullet points above.

Pmnav12, I really appreciate the post and information. Thank you very much.
I asked for those lakes because I live in Frisco TX and all of them are within 1 hour travel time. Tawakoni especially, it's kinda hairy sometimes due to the huge trees in the middle of the lake.
One more question, is the Navionics chip going to look better with Lowrance or Humminbird?
Again, thank you very much for your time.

Diel, you also get a FREE PC App with a Navionics chart. You can upload and convert your waypoints on there for free. Thanks for the reminder. I forgot to mention that. Get the same chart as what you bought free for your laptop. same detail. apologize as traveling so I took some of these screenshots from my iPhone. Yes Navionics has our exact same charts on the iPhone which allow you to look at charting, do routes, go to feature, plan waypoints, get the whole USA for $10. So being on the road and not in fornt of a plotter, please excuse these but the charts will look the same. Sorry it is also available on iPad, Droid, and Droid Tablet. Lots of features as well that i havent mentioned but keeping this short. Shots are of same as above for what I had time to quickly post. Shot one: comparison: note contours, creek beds, underwater features Shot two: More of the same. I tried to keep the same zoom level. I'll try to do one more as a closer zoom for clarity on the one foot liones and flooded timber note. also note the fish icon from community layer some nice person told us about where fish are. Shot 3: self explanatory. You can see where the pond is too by it being labeled. Shot 4: same comparison as lakemaster but note the hump they missed. I highlighted in a shading feature to have it stand out. BTW the dotted lines are creek beds or road beds as labelled. Shot 5: another area comparison to Dougs. What I did do here is add sat overlay as Navionics has. Mind you this is a Google overlay as im not on my plotter but exactly the same type image. This is available on our Platinum charts. Very helpful for running shallow creeks, seeing extra dock detail, verifying the coastline is correct (which only Navionics did already) and seeing a an actual Earth view. very helpful Shot 6 and shot 7: Doug and I have been talking freshwater and I KNOW saltwater anglers are on here. This is a Platinum Plus chart for navigation in 6. Shot 7 is what happens when you turn on the Fish layer. Note the 1' holes that appear. great fishing grounds. Only on Navionics. Shot 8 and 9: another saltwater shot inshore. Navigation on one for safe driving which is updated ndaily on freshest data and shot 9 what happens with Fish layer. 1' contours. Who doesnt want to find one foot contours on their favorite flat! I decided not to post shots of lakes that Lakemaster doesnt have to be fair for now. besides, I dont think anyone wants to see one foot contours and then a shot of blue water. This thread is long enough. Two more shots coming on freshest data. After that, Doug play nice! i have a sales meeting to run

Diel,
thats a question you need to play around with. The nice thing is our charting gives the same detail on every plotter we work with. if you want satelite overlay, than make sure you go to an HDS or a 898 Humm or higher. same thing for Fish N chip and SonarChart data. You will want an HDS or 898 or higher (actually 700 series will run it but not 3d or sat overlay). functionality, defintion is a personal choice. They are both great plotters. Its a question of what you like, you want, you need, and what you are comfortable with. My suggestion, go to your local retailer and play around.

LakeMaster does not highlight Trees the same as Navionics. Some lakes I have seen Trees written on them. This guide will show you some of the labelling being done: http://www.lakemap.com/images/humtxokscreenshots.jpgI think the big deal here is both mapping companies have very good products. But there are differences and was the whole reason I and Mike Dixon and some of your Texas Prostaff Members have commented in other posts in the pasts on TFF to have a comparison so the consumer can decide. Like Dale has mentioned and I have heard many other members of LakeMaster Team mention that maybe it's best to have both mapping companies products. It's awesome we have a choice. Just like the Electronics Market. I own both and never felt is was right until I had to purchase the latest product from Navionics to compare images. Probably the same thing you do with the Navionics Marketing Bulletins that Compare Mapping between Navionics and Competitor A and B. You use the most current data. I've been using the "Freshest" Data before I make comparisons so I can be assured it's the most current. Neither Mapping Company is Perfect. Neither Electronics Company is Perfect and Neither are the the Boat Manufacturers Perfect for Everyone. Why not work together then say false things about people trying to help and the competition and give the consumers what they really want. As close as apple-to-apples comparison. Lets show them the benefits of each brand. Maybe compare Navigation Areas then OffShore Structure then Creeks and Shallow Water Areas so they understand what they are buying. The thing I hate worse is seeing someone waste there hard earned dollars on something that didn't work for them. $100 to $200 Map card my not seem much to your or I but there are anglers that's a huge investment for them. I want to help them and keep them in the sport. Do you? If so lets take turns as was the initial agreement and shaer images so they can make their decision Navionics, LakeMaster or feel the need they need both. My vote is for the last one. I've been on fisheries where I've used 4 different map cards in a day to get the data I needed. Old Versions, New Versions, Offshore and Different Brands. That was alot of money in mapping but it got the job done! Paul I apologize if you thought I was trying to "frame" or "degrade" Navionics...that was never the intent...it was to show Proof of Performance between Products. That's all I've ever done with Mapping, Electronics, Lures, Tackle or Boats to show what they can do to the best of my abilities. That's got me to where I am at in this industry. I'm very fortunate to be able to do that and love helping consumers. I'm fortunate to have the time to do it. Let's put our differences away and help the consumer. It will probably help build better products for them knowing our weaknesses from the comments they make. And make stronger comapnies in return. Lets get to sharing and showing the Proof we each offer.

Just saw your post Doug. I offerred to do a back and forth for some areas and also how they improve but didnt reply. unfortuantely I cant live on this forum. I've said everything I can. I've posted shots same area as yours. Unfortunately on the iphone it doesnt show lat/long but if you look at your to mine you can see exactly which ones they are. I didnt have time to do all. I wish I had time but lots to do. We are always making our charts better and I need to get to it.
Again, feel free to put up shots against the freshest data ones i just did. should be abel to see lat long i think. Pulled it from some files in my laptop.
okay chat again. its late.
