Yeah, catfishing can be really good there particularly if the wind is blowing out of the south across the lake. There are some nice drop offs close enough to the shore to get out to. I've caught some cats upwards of 20-30 lbs over there. I plan on bringing my bank rods Friday night if the wind is right.

I plan to bank fish campsite 29(assuming this site don't have trees blocking it from bank fishing) friday-Sunday.

Let me try this again. Does anyone know if there is still a fire bane in effect where the GTG is?

I use this site to check for burn bans. According to them, Denton county has a burn ban, but Tarrant county currently does not. Seems the camp site is close to the border between the counties? Not sure which county it is in.

The park is in Denton County.

I would just plan on not being able to have wood or charcoal fires. Propane stoves and cookers are allowed during a burn ban.

I was told by a park ranger during a fire ban that charcoal grills are ok as long as they are off the ground. So you just can't use the ones that you put the charcoal on the ground.

Oh No! Long range weather on TV said a possibility of "significant rainfall" by next weekend. Said it depends on a front coming up from Mexico.

I just saw this too. Forecast is calling for t-storms starting this Friday and into the weekend.
