Well folks, I have been asked alot of questions and given alot positive of comments on my crappie condos I make out of Bamboo and decided that Im going to sell my trees.
These things hold the fish folks and last forever. Even when the leaves eventually fall off, which takes a long time, they still hold fish year around.
I realize most crappie fisherman make their own structure,so this is just for the newcomers or the folks who just don't have the time to make their own, which I understand. These things don't make themselves! It takes some time to build one right!
Heres a breakdown of what Im offering:
5 gallon bucket tree--- 125.00
15 or 20 gallon bucket tree--- 175.00
This will be a fully made tree and ready to go. You can pick them up at my house in Longview and take them to a lake of your choice, or you can pick them up at my place on Lake Fork. If you pick them up at Fork and plan on putting them out on Fork, I will give you hand in doing so.
Be sure that when you pick them up, you have a trailer to put them on. They travel very well laid over on the side and strapped down.
You can check out what they look like on my Facebook page both in and out of the water. Search Lake Fork Cat and Crappie on Facebook to take a look.
I will also sell just the supplies to make a condo if you are wanting to do it yourself.
I will sell enough bamboo and provide the bucket for a 5 gallon tree for 75.00. And provide enough bamboo and bucket for a 15 or 20 gallon tree for 100.00.
If you decide to do it yourself, I will give your tips and helpful ideas to make the job easier.
Check out my Facebook page or website at Lakeforkcatandcrappie.com for contact information.
Thanks good folks of TFF. Hope to hear from you soon.

It takes a lot of time to build and place these things. Getting the bucket and the cement is only the beginning. I know folks who have paid more than that to have them built. Good luck. I'll spread the word.

G3 I aint mad at you. That's whats great about a free market, if you like you buy. If you don't like you dont buy. The market will dictate whether your prices are right or not. Keep doing what you do!!!

Tend to do exactly that. Put out 30-35 Brush Piles in 2 lakes last winter, and will probably do that many this winter. It takes a lot of time to build and place these things. Getting the bucket and the cement is only the beginning. I know folks who have paid more than that to have them built. Good luck. I'll spread the word. Not that hard at all. Just coming up with materials is the toughest part. If you haft to buy everything from hardware store, it is a little more costly. most of these guies want to see you fishing and come fish yours ,they dont like to work much Never minded the effort we put into catching fish. You haft to put out some effort if you want to stay on stead fish. Didn't get any pics of our PVC or Bamboo Stake Beds, but here is a few of the other types of structure we put in the water. Boo Balls Deep Water Structure Pour these then use zip ties to add bamboo limbs. Poured these in 30 minutes. We use a Battery Powered Saw-Sal to cut bamboo. Can cut a 16' Flat bed Trailer Load in 30-45 minutes. We can get 12 buckets with bamboo limbs, on our barge. Zip tie limbs onto the bucket frames and toss them in the water. Good luck with the business. Wasn't trying to give you are hard time. Just surprised me..... keith

Keith Ahhh...Cooter's just upset he didn't think of it first so he could retire again!!! just sayin... RIGHT!! Or, he's thinkin about the nearly 50 he & Bruce built and sunk that could'a enabled him to buy 2 more HDS10-Gen2's WITH LSS2's. That way, he could'a floated the 2 transducer's on planer-boards out to each side and been able to scan nearly a quarter mile in 1 pass. Not to mention the inside of his Tracker (& everyone in it) would'a REALLY glowed in the dark!

Obviously you can save money if you've got the time to do them yourself. I bet he would have cut you a deal on 50 though.
G3bassbarge, sounds like you need to hire pepop to build them cheap for you and then you sell 'em.

Keith Keith, I understand where you are coming from but there is no need to bash the man. If you don't like what you see, don't post.... Simple as that. BTW, G3 I wish you the best of luck with your business and commend your entrepreneurship.

BTW, G3 I wish you the best of luck with your business and commend your entrepreneurship. Wasn't meaning for it to sound like bashing. I was talking about sitting on a Gold Mine. Just I have about 400 buckets, 3 different stands of bamboo on our 200 acre spread, and a supply of busted cement bags. Then 3 16' Flat Bed Trailers of PVC. Personally I don't have one problem with you guys paying for G-3's Condo's. The more condo's the merrier. keith

There is alot of hard work involved to building condos. I've sunk my share of them as well made from cedar trees, willow trees and plastic. Not a fan of the bamboo.
Keep on fishing.

I hate to jump in here since I'd much rather sit back and and not to jump on Keith's side just because he's a friend of mine, but the fact is, I don't see any suggestion of "bashing" in his post. In fact, what I do see is his astonishment over the thought that if a bucket of concrete, some 'boo & the labor involved to put them together will bring in $125, a guy could make a bundle what with his resources and being simi-retired. Hey Keith, let me know if you need a padna in crime cuz I have access to a few acres of 25' boo and I'll be retired in just a few months! $60 to $85 each per bucket sounds pretty good!!Though I'm inclined to agree, building them and setting them out yourself so as to know that any time you go out you'll be able to at least catch dinner is worth a lot!

An old Greek proverb: A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.
But we are talking about building habitat that is at best begrudgingly shared. After looking at all those buckets and sticks I'd feel guilty about fishing condos placed by others. But not guilty enough to keep me from fishing them! I haven't fished those condos yet just COE piles and standing timber.
I'll make sure to contribute to the 5 gallon bucket metropolis at the lake I finally call my home. Until then I'll enjoy looking for yours. Thanks for enhancing the fisheries guys...

Whew!!!! Made some bamboo crappie/bass condos with G3bassbarge. It was well worth the money. He cut and brought the bamboo to my place, spent a few hours day one building the condos, came back out the next day and spent several hours helping me locate some great spots, and them helped load them on the boat and put them in place. I couldn't have done it without him, and it took a LOT of work. If you don't have the time nor the means to do it all by yourself, I highly recommend his service. Here are some pictures... Building one of the deeper water condos... Built two shallow water horizontal condos... Built a smaller horizontal condo and placed inside my boat house... Sidescan image of one of the deeper condos in place... Downscan image of one of the deeper condos in place...

Hey guys, nice condos to all. I'm sure many of us have placed some in various locations and we all have different styles and techniques. It's just what another likes and wants to pay for. And who is the closest and that may deliver. There are a lot of factors. But again to both, nice looking condos. And to Keith, I see why you limit out all of the time.
