My favorite is an unpainted plain jig and plastic. I feel like I have a chance to get bites if I have a jig and plastic on. Just have to concentrate and make 'em count. But, I would have to say the best multi species lure is a Rapala Floating Minnow. Catches everything from bream to sailfish. Seen guys up North rig them all kinds of ways. Downrigger, planer boards, trolling, weird looking C-rigs, some weird looking wire rigs resembling a Yum Double Up, etc... Just a "Go Getter" as Coach Houston would call it! +10 I love the Rapala Silver or Gold Floating Minnow!

I'm surprised I don't see many topwaters mentioned. I've caught more bonus species on a Pop-R than the actual black bass I was fishing for. Small topwaters seem to catch quite a few when there is a topwater bite to be had. Spook type baits catch everything; freshwater and saltwater.

Definitely the leadhead jig since it can be used as a hair jig, dressed with a tube or shad body and even fished naked tipped with live bait. It comes in all sizes for every species and every depth except topwater.http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/images/icons/default/laugh.gif

Bass Assassins or the old trusty Kastmaster in Blue and silver or gold and silver with a bucktail.

Bomber's Model-5A in silver shad has proved to be a great multi-species crank bait for me. I catch perch, crappie, white bass and bass on it all the time. One special day on Altus Lake I caught those 4 plus a walleye and a channelcat, all in one day.
