Im still kind lost on arrangements, so you put a payment on the boat now and wait for year for him to use it before it becomes yours?

Can u back out after the year if you change your mind. Lots of variables can change over the course of a year.

This is how it works. He is a Bass Cat pro staffer. He gets a new boat every season. He offers the boats for sale around August-September of every year. He fishes only small local tournaments so the boat does not get used much. He saw that I was interested in a Bass Cat and he contacted me with the offer. He said that if you'd like a fully rigged bass cat for a huge discount wait till August 2013 and I can have his. He also said that if I am interested to do the deal, that I can choose any colors I wish along with any options I want, including, graphs, TM, power poles, etc....Essentially, he is borrowing the boat for the season(april-august)When August comes, and he is ready to get out of the boat, I pay him, and pick up my boat. It is obviously not mine until I fully pay him, but it is my choice to take it or leave it. I told him a year is a long wait and anything can happen. He told me that he doesnt have to place his order till february so I have 5 months to fully decide. Then its only a 6 month wait.

So you have to put down a payment before he orders the boat? Or does he just buys the boat and a year later u call him up to see if he wants to sell it to u and negotiate then?

I put a small deposit($1K) down to order the boat the way I want, otherwise, he pics the colors and options. By putting the deposit down, I secure that boat for myself. He uses it for the season and then sells it to me for the agreed price.

MAKE SURE YOU KNOW AND UNDERSTAND WARRANTY ON ALL ELECRONICS,BOAT ,MOTOR,AND ETC.........DON'T JUST TAKE HIS WORD FOR IT.bEEN THERE DONE THAT.....IT WASN'T PRETTY. ^^^^^^^this^^^^^^^^ EVERYTHING HAS ITS OWN WARRANTY. TM, Gauges, electronics(most are a year), motor and hull. I bought a Puma from a pro staffer back in 07'. I still have it and I have only had two issues with it Trim motor (not covered) and lower unit(thanks to Tommy it was replaced for free). I would do it again in a heart beat.

I don't know any pro staffers that beat up there boats. Its in your best interest to take care of the boat the best you can. Most deals are not free, and they own the boat. If u beat your boat up ur loosing money. Knowing the person and possibly references might be a good idea. If this is their first pro staff deal, maybe I would shy away.

He has sold a few like this before. I spoke to someone that bought his last boat this year. He was thoroughly satisfied with the deal and with the Pro Staffer. He is 100% satisfied and said he would buy another boat from him without hesitation. He has been very nice to work with so far and has taken the time to answer any and all of my questions. He has encouraged me to keep asking questions. There is no other way to get this kind of deal on this caliber of boat.

Stingray, We sell two to three team BassCats a year. Our pro staffers take very good care of thier investment. They have to purchase these boats. I haven't heard of anyone buying a BCB from a local team fisherman that had any problems. I will even pre sell a demo boat of my own. I require a good deposit and let the buyer rig the boat the boat the way he wants it. This is done all the time. I would be a little cautious about some of the factory sponsored fisherman, all manufacturers not just BCB. Like it was said they sometimes abuse the boats.
