I've been fishing it for a little over a year and have had some pretty good days. WRL was the only place I could get bit in Dallas all summer. I have had the most success on soft plastics, jigs, and flukes in the reeds and emergent grass.
I hear that the catfish and crappie bite are both very good but have never fished for those species. Maybe I'll give the crappie bite a run this fall when they move into the creek.

She can be a gem. Spinners have worked well for me. Soft Plastics in the cooler months.

White Rock is a great lake. Easily catch numbers but not a ton of size. I fished the lake 7 days a week when I first got into bass fishing from a jon boat with 9.9hp motor and had a blast. I caught fish on every stitch of bank surround that entire lake. Major areas to focus on are anywhere that you find grass/weeds growing in the water (there is a ton of that) and the rocks along Garland Road of AWESOME. Most of my good fish have come on brown/blk jigs but had lots of luck on worms, rattletraps and blk/red spinners with single Colorado blades. Here is a picture of my biggest fish ever out there. Little over 7lbs if I remember correct.

I've been out twice this month and got a couple bites, none in the boat. The water clearity seems to change everytime I'm out there. I went way up the river last night and the water never really started clearing up until I made it all the way to 12. WRL has always been extremely hit or miss for me.

Fished that lake since I was a kid. A lot of fish in that lake. My best bass have come from those creeks.

If anyone is off on Monday for Veteran's day give me a shout. I am going to try and take the pond prowler out and hit an area that I haven't fished yet and will have an empty seat. Maybe a few guys an meet up? I smoke so if that bothers you then maybe not the trip for you.
