Man, great photos!!! I've got to make that trip. Looks like somebody caught a big-un!

Buddy of mine lives on that stretch. Waiting for the water to come back up (if ever) to go run that exact run. Thanks for the pics. Have scoped it out by satellite but have yet to make the complete stretch. Looks great.

As far as camping goes I think I maybe able to get away with stealth camping by hanging my Hennessy Hammok between a couple of trees on the river bank right at dark. Would suck to wake up to an angry land owner but if I set my phone alarm for before the sun comes up then I should be ok.

My friend who lives along the river there has caught some really nice bass in the past so hopefully they havent strayed far with the water being low.

Google Earth is how I mapped out the trip; it's extremely helpful

There were some nice, deep pools I would have liked to stop and really fish, but due to time, a couple quick cast is all I got.

I did see quite a few Guadalupe Bass, though.

Thanks again for the compliments y'allthumb

One of these days we should start a thread on islands and sandbar that make for good camping. That's be a good resource.

Agreed. Also we should look into existing law on river banks and river beds and what constitutes tresspassing. Of course arguing existing law with angry land owners isn't a good idea but having the updated facts would sure help if the sherrif shows up.

GREAT pics. My wife and I were going there in May, but didn't make it. Hopefully will make that trip in the next few years.
