Have to agree with Marc...way too early since water temps are still above 80.

Looks to me like the lake is trying to start turning over the last few weeks. Been noticing alot of sign and a bunch of fish way up in the water column. Caught some nice ones today during the middle of the day on topwaters in 1 to 3 ft over the scattered grass .Also been seeing some schooling fish way in the back of a few of the pockets. Fish get pretty scattered this time of year and could show up anywhere. This is typical for late August and early Sept. Water in some areas out on the main lake are getting a little foam. May go back the other way if it gets hot again. It goes back and forth like this every year until it gets done as the weather goes back and forth.

Cameron that is crazy. Last year in August we were catching fish in 2-3 ft on points and in the midday heat of 100 + it was crazy hot and I had my guys throwing a TX rig worm to the dirt and the first cover off the bank you would get a bit. Most of them were 2-5 pounds. Some of the same stuff going on right now. When a lake turns over the cool water / surface temps drops as the warmer water from the bottom rises this usually take more than a week or two even with the rains. The turnover takes place in the shallow areas first like the shallow arms and the backs of the pockets. Bass adapt to shallow water anytime in any conditions. I know of 2 fish over 11 lbs and a 9 lb and a 8 lb caught out of my boat in the heat of the summer in 3 ft or less and the temp was over 100. Never say never I say. One of the 11 pounders and a 8 pounder came off the same lay down 10 mins apart.Fish get much hotter in a pond but they adapt to the heat and conditions. This is just my opinion, it has not turned over yet. I do respect all others opinions. Now lets go catch some bass !

What you guys missed, was the fact that Cameron was lip-synching the background music in the video he linked. Yep, that's our own giant tenor!

My brother and I are set to go with Brian Duplechain 09-06..Will get an update about " Fishing With Brian ". Haven't been out with him in awhile. As a side note back in the ole days who all were waited on by his mother at Sloan's for breakfast. I can still see her smile greeting everyone, even as I walk in now. What a lady.

Look like Fork thermocline now should be at about 30' so anything less than 30' (which is most of Fork and around the 2946 bridge)should have only warmed uniform temp. water columns from surface fully to lake bottom. They should be mixing each day as the surface cools a bit at night and warms back during the nextday. Deep lake Fork is not yet Fall turnover for the entire lake, but for any parts of the lake shallower than 30', the waters should be well oxygenated and mixing continuously top to bottom. These parts of the lake will not contribute to the Fall turnover like the deeper waters of the lake.
