We are going to try to compare as close to Apple-to-Apples as we can for Texas lakes between all brands of Mapping. If you are going to add images to compare lets make sure to use the exact same coordinates and zoom level so they can be used for comparison.

Please feel free to add to the discussion of the images and if you want supply Coordinates of Areas of Interest and the Detail(Zoom) Level you would like to see from the various mapping suppliers.

Doug, I see that you are sponsored by LakeMaster so assume you are a bit biased? Also assumed you were going to compare Navionics, etc from the same location to compare but, don't see the comparison.
I'm considering adding a new chip but, totally open to compare them all to decide best option particulary for Cedar Creek Lake.
Your thoughts?

I'm not too experienced on the newest Navionics chip and didn't use the new Lakemaster chip as much as I would have like but, the Lakemaster blew it away for ease of use and the ability to target a depth range. This was on Cedar Creek.

The Lakemaster is only compatable with Humminbird.

It ain't easy making it look easy.

We were discussing mapping differences on the Lake Fork Mapping Topic
http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/7752378/Lake_Fork_Map#Post7752378

and we decided it was best we start a new thread. So I started this one so we can post comparison images from all mapping suppliers.

Since I know the ins and outs of LakeMaster Product I was going to post images from that product and we discussed doing one lake at a time at the same GPS Location and Same Zoom Range. I started this post to help others and they were going to follow with screen shots from the products they represent. Guess they are not going to offer comparisons for everyone to compare mapping products?

If someone want to gather Navionics and Insight Images or any other mapping products and post it would be neat to see the differences. Be nice to Compare on Humminbird 1198c or HDS10 since they are the same screen size and pixel count. We need to compare the most current product from all manufacturers. Not trying to be biased but want to try to compare apples-to-apples to help you make the best mapping decision for yourself. Hopefully we can get others to join in and we can gather a mapping resource from lakes around Texas.

Here is a couple images from Cedar Creek with LakeMaster

N32 18.802', W96 10.025' At 200 Foot Zoom Range

N32 15.557', W96 04.313' At 500 Foot Zoom Range

These are on the Humminbird 1198c with Version 2 LakeMaster for Texas/Oklahoma Region

Hopefully others can share the Same Exact Areas and Range so you can make the best comparison for you. If you need other areas and what range of detail let me know and I'll get the images for you. Here to help!

Wish I could some how make them side by side but I'm not that computer savy. The shots from Navionics are from a card I "refreshed/updated" about a month ago, clearly Navionics is head & shoulders above the Insight. Shots are from a HDS 10 Gen 2. Scale wasn't exact on first pics but close enough. And for the record I have no favortism in this debate because I don't get anything for free crying.

Lake Fork 200ft Navionics

Lake Fork 200ft Insight, doesn't even show an island???

This is your first pic..

200ft Navionics

200 ft Insight

500ft Navionics

Now Doug do one for me, you have a Lakemaster of this? This is Choke Canyon reservior, south of San Antonio, TX. I know it's not a HD lake yet but still curious as to how it compares.

Insight

Navionics

Same are with Water Level Offset to Match Insight -7 Feet

Here's one at 500 Foot Zoom Range too.

These are all with North Referenced Mapping. Humminbird 1198c with LakeMaster non-HD Map for Choke Canyon.

I'm leaving to work the FLW Cup be back Wednesday if you need more comparisons... So it will be a few days before I can get you exact images.

Pretty good maps for being non-HD. Those Lakemaster card colors sure are easier on the eyes.

Plus YOU can control the Depth Color Range (Change the Blues) and add Shallow Water Highlights (Red) and Depth Range Highlight (Green) to help you target specific depth ranges you need to be more efficient.

Want to compare some more images? This could really be beneficial to others to help see which mapping supplier or suppliers is/are best for them.

Here are some from Ray Roberts

N 33 26.190', W 097 02.137' at 500' Zoom Range

N 33 23.449', W 097 04.789' at 500' Zoom Range

Get me coordinates and we can take turns on different lakes and areas so everyone can see the comparisons.

Does Lakemaster have a chip like you've displayed here for Lowrance users?

LakeMaster is now exclusive to Humminbird since Johnson Outdoors owns both companies. Same as Insight is exclusive to Lowrance.

Here are some examples of various lakes that have been updated by Navionics and available on new chips and the Freshest Data program and some comparisons to other maps
