I expected a lot more from navionics, i thought there would be a lot more detail i know not on every lake but I have looked at a lot of different lakes and they are all the same except grand lake . there is no 1ft contour lines just numbers. The only way I could get those screen shots I took was to put in simulation mode load navionics and then load lowrance maps. To me it's like lowrance insight maps with "some" navionics data overlay. The best detail I found was on grand lake in OK, that was the data I expected from navionics.

If that's what it says on the chip then it should be showing you more detail than what you are getting. Seems to me that for whatever reason, your unit isn't reading your card correctly. Might be user error or a problem with you unit. From looking at the 2 zoomed in screenshots it looks to me like insight mapping.

It is not an option from the "pages" screen and am wondering if there is another way to view this on my screen? Any input would be appreciated!

You have to have at least 4.0 update to have three way split screens on hte HDS 7.

Those pics are the Insight Mapping, I took the card out and looked at the settings i had changed and thats why i had not seen the fishing spots or the trees in red before. So i am back to the same issue on navionics not showing any detail on the any lake just blue water and tan land.

I will be installing a LSS-2 with a HDS-5 Gen 1 this weekend.( Ya i know. Small screen will be an issue ) I have a question about the yellow wire on the LSS-2. Did i read that you can hook up the yellow accessory wire on the HDS-5 with the Yellow wire on The LSS-2? Will that power up the LSS-2 when the HDS-5 is on and turn it off when the HDS-5 is off? I also have a accessory switch on the dash that Is not used for anything else. Would it be better to tap into unused Accessory switch or tie into the HDS-5? Sorry for the long post. Thanks

Connect yellow wire to HDS5 yellow wire and it will signal the LSS to turn off when you turn off the HDS5. Alternative is to connect yellow to a switch to power, then throwing the switch signals LSS to turn off/on.

I went yellow wire to yellow wire and works good for me. LSS still gets power signal even when HDS in standby mode.

Thanks J.O.F. I think that's what I will do. I run the HDS-5 off one of my trolling motor batteries.

Is this with the downscan?? Next time out check to see if it's (downscan) in auto mode if so, take it out of auto and see if that corrects it.
