I know it doesnt help but I just took a guided trip off the coast of Florida and he ran twin Yamaha 225 four strokes. They both showed 1800 hrs on em and he just recently replaced the power heads. I was glad to see those hrs considering I just rolled over 100 on mine. 350 doesnt seem like a big concern to me even if it is 2 stroke.

just compare it with how many hours a day you drive at the lake most people dont fish 60x per year and to think of your 10 hrs or so a day you're going to drive around for an hour maybe but I seriously doubt it!

As a point of reference my last motor had over 1500 hours on it. As long as you practice good maintenance, use top quality gas additives and don't abuse a motor it will last a long time.

Good info! In listing my 2006 Ranger right now with a 200 Optimax and have some folks calling and asking how many hours, and I tell them it has only 176 hours on it, plus the boat is immaculate, they just say O.K. thanks and the conversation is over! I honestly don't know what some people expect, would they rather it be cryogenically frozen after the year 2006?, geeze.

Inexperienced boat buyers/owners and just don't understand and either to prideful are unaware of a forum like this to ask the question? I try and tell people all the time that I would rather buy a boat that has been used every weekend by a fisherman than sitting unused in a garage. 1. serious fishermen usually keep their boats maintained more so than the normal boat owner and 2. these things were built to run not sit up for months at a time.
