Has anyone been fishing for white bass on weatherford? I live at granbury and lake is to low for anything. I may consider Proctor. Benbrook was starting to get really low about 3 weeks ago.

I live very close to LW, but only go once in a great while and ussually for crappie. The only ramp there kinda sucks and especially does if the water get low. Benbrook should be okay for a little longer, but only at the mustang park ramp. Still others open at BB, but they are real shallow. I may take the jonboat over to weatherford some time soon after work. Theres sure to be some whites by the dam near the bubbles. Will report if I make it out.

Lake Weatherford is great. I caught the heck out of them growing up there. I used to fish some working mans bass tournaments back in the day. The black bass would surprise you. I still pull the boat to my parents from occasion to go pound those bubblers a couple times a year.

Agreed though..the best crappie fishin is near the marina. if you have a chance to fish where the old location of the barge was i recommend it if the water level is good. They moved the barge a few years back and all the brush is still down there. Its under the newer slips to the side of the ramp. good luck.

I appreciate the info. I will check current water levels and see what its like to launch. I read somewhere that the white bass was good fishing just dont hear a lot about it out there.

Went after work. Caught a couple crappie then the lightning started and I headed for cover. Storm passed and I went back out. Caught about 20 yellow bass, one white bass, and a green trash fish. Was better than the first part of the day (work). Fred had fun. Only 6 mile to ramp from driveway. Sure I'll be back.

Are the yellow bass any bigger on Weatherford than BB?

I havent made it out to weatherford yet. Tried Benbrook Saturday morning and didnt do well. Windy for that lake believe me. Saw a guy on Granbury Sunday though and he was boating the sandies.

I fishes W Lake on Sunday morning before the rain. the fishing was slow. ended up with about two dozen fish. mostly small yellows at the bubblers. tried for some black bass on the docks and could not get bit. saw some other guys catching black bass though on lizards.
