Is the thermocline still active there? If it ever cools down & gets dissipated, it will be much better. Before this weekend, there were 3 ZIP ones.

My uncle went Saturday 15th to several tanks nearby, then to our front tank. Not even a bite at all 3 he went to & that was using his jig he always has the best results with. I did not have the heart to show him it was a ZIP day. Sometimes ya just gotta go, regardless.

Just now gettin' on 'puter. OK, will try to get the TFF October 2012 up here before Midnight. Or Midnight-thirty.

I was hopin' to get back in the saddle the end of this month or beginning of October. However, sometimes you wonder if maybe you are shoved into some sort of a 1 year sabbatical. My uncle's P/U broke down during the summer. Now my P/U broke down two weeks ago Friday night (14th). Serious problems in the motor. If the rain stops, I might be able to pull it Sunday afternoon. Prognosis seems to veer towards #8 cylinder as a spark plug was sheered off even & took a hit. Water in 6 of 8 cylinders (on plugs). And oil is now 1 to 2 quarts over full (water). Probably cracked block or cylinder wall compromised & piston with a hole. We shall see.

Fishing on 9/25, at the edge of the river channel, 20 ft. deep, All catches were at 9 and 12 feet. I have juglines made up with 5 hooks spaced 3 ft apart. Fish finder also showed lots of fish at 17-18 ft. It appears that fish are moving to deeper water with the recent cooldown. No trotlines in the water at this time due to the heat and someone cutting my last one a few weeks ago. Will set new lines in mid-october.

Het Lynn, when ya gonna hit the water ? ? ??

Not sure. Was hopin' end of September/first of October, but then truck broke down on Sept 14th. My uncle's truck broke down before the summer. He's got a Geo now until he gets his P/U runnin'. Friday (a few days ago) just got me a Ford Tempo. Naturally no trailer hitch & with the way things have been going lately, I don't think it would be wise to mount one. As I might be back out of transport again.

Back in 2002 (July 4th trip), I blew the Camry's timing belt coming back from Running Branch. So I remember well about pushing vehicles over what they can pull.

I might just wait until Turkey Day Trip. And if lake is down, I'll take my sister's Porta-Bote again. But this time, I will stay crouched low & try to stay out of the lake (as I did last Thanksgiving Day).

As per the calendar, it is looking really good for this Turkey Day Holidays, as to YC & BC. Been a few years since this good. Only problem, is if we take the Porta-Bote & hang the Giant, it may run us & the boat like a pinball machine. I'd have to put it to sleep & tie it good, as I don't think it would be wise to get it in the boat as it could turn us over. I am reminded of how fast weight shifted when I fell out last time on T-Day. Not something I want to do again.

Looks like I got my work cut out for me this month. I have to finish mapping out 2013, make up the RTF monthly calendars, then try to make up the 2013 hard copy edition. I'll be touching base with a few of you to get some info on some of the pics you have sent.

One of my YellowCat teachers (Olen) made his exit recently from our side to do some catfishin' on the "other side" now. Also, just recently, plea bargains were made in the brutal double slaying that took the life of one of my two prize Catfish Calendar & YellowCat students- Jeff, along with his wife Pam. The guy got two concurrent 60 year sentences, and his wife got 30 years. So, I think we should all take a moment (of your own choosing) of silence to remember those who have passed on that have somehow affected each of us (in our lives) & our catfishin'. It may be a sad note on one side of the coin, but as we recall some of the good times with each & every one, we surely should smile.
