Humminbird? I'm really impressed with the added details, accuracy, coverage and the Exclusive Features.

What Doug posted was the Lakemaster software. Navionics does not have those features.

This is LakeMaster. It has many exclusive features like Lake Level Offset, Shallow Water Highlight, Depth Highlight and more. This Video may help you understand them more: http://youtu.be/QaVqoLeJeeM

Lakemaster is a way better map card than Navionics especially on the HD lakes the features you have with it is just unreal hope they keep adding HD lakes like my home lake Livingston there's no detail on Lakemaster nor Navionics but I rarely fish it so its no big deal.

LakeMaster is continually updating and adding more details and lakes.

Here's a look at the same areas of Fork, just for the sake of comparison.

Navionics is adding/upgrading lakes at breakneck pace. And that new data is made available to users on a daily basis through the Freshest Data downloads right from your home computer, which is nice.

Again, just for the sake of clarity...

Lake Livingston is a Navionics HD Lake.
I'd be happy to zoom in on any particular area if you'd like. Admittedly, any company's maps become a bit cluttered when zoomed out this far.

And of particular note, Navionics announced the impending release of UGC 3D this past week at ICAST.
Customers will now have the ability to log sonar (on capable plotters) anywhere they boat/fish, upload it to Navionics in less than 5-8 minutes on their home computer, and have that data turned into an HD (1' contours) map within 24 hours that is then available via a Freshest Data update.

Pretty cool.

To help the consumers make their best buying decision it's best to compare at the same level of zoom scale - so you can comapare the details at the same level.

Here are the Lake Fork Images at the same scale in the exact same cursor location and water level offset set to zero.

500 ft Zoom Level

200 ft Zoom Level

Do you see the additional details LakeMaster Provides? On left side on the point below the road is a point withing a point seen and then the next one south of the creek is a hump on the point and there are numerous other structures where LakeMaster's attention to detail captures more details.

Lake Livingston at the Exact Same Waypoint Locations and Exact Same Zoom Level and Water Level Offset set to Zero.

I'd make sure you're taking advantage of the Freshest Data updates for your Navionics card. Not sure when Livingston got all this detail, but it's most definitely there. It would be a shame to go fishing without it.

A few more with some zooming for better idea of what's on there...

Someone contacted me and asked about comparing mapping between Electronics and Mapping Company. Since this post got into some comparison the image below shows the comparison as equal as can be done between Electronics Manufacturers and Mapping Companies. Intersting the differences.
