Benbrook is still falling over an inch a day, and is now more than four feet low. I was on the lake a few hours this afternoon. The first drop of a jig, I caught a chunky 12 incher. I released it. I haven't been keeping anything that small lately.
But after three hours of catching nothing but little fish, and remembering that my wife had said she'd cook whatever I brought home today, I was questioning the wisdom of letting that fish go. I finally caught a less chunky 12 incher, and just before I quit, two bigger fish.
Some days are like that, I guess. I wouldn't even have had a tournament limit today. But it worked pretty well for dinner. It's hard to believe that's just 3 fish on the table, and one of them wasn't that big.
