Anyone have any thoughts on Navarro Mills Lake? Looks like a good lake, I know it's rep is for Crappie, but it's supposed to have good Bass also. And Liberty Hill Park looks perfect fot holding the tournament. It has 56 Full hook up camp sites, 40 some tent sites, and a group camp area that would be perfect to hold the festivities. 70+ parking spaces and a huge covered area. Give me your thought and once we agree...for the most part on a location, I can get this rolling. I was also thinking of trying for October 20th.

Navarro is a ok lake, I fished it a ton as a kid with one of my Grandfathers for crappie and he used to hate going there because the 'bass always got in the way' as he put it. It has silted in quite a bit since then and I would not call it as good of a bass lake now.

Sounds like the want is there so hows about this proposal... *OH Ivie-Kennedy Recreation Area ( http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/o_h_ivie/access.phtml ) *Sept 22nd (moon phase will be 1/2 rising) *$20 cash entry, %100 payout to top anglers (individuals), * game is best 5 LMB 14" minimum *Total inches of top 5 anglers on each side will determine N-S winner *sign in from 645-710a (choose your side at sign-in) *Capts meeting at 710-715a *Sunrise at 7:20a so launch then *weigh in at 3p, *food (pot luck) and awards at 4p, sunset at 7:27p so most should be home by dark camping, nearby lodging available Sounds good. Do you have any info on good places to stay down there?

Well thanks for all the ideas, I guess I'll just pick the palce and date and let you all know. Hermes just to let you know, this isn't my first rodeo. I ran 3 regions for American Bass in Northern California for 7 years. I've put on a few tournaments. This is my dream to get kayak fishing into the big time and hopefully we can look back on this tournament and say, yep I fished that tournament and the rest is history. :-) Just a dream, but look at BASS, Ray Scott had a dream that started with one tournament. I'll start getting things set up and once I get some conformations, I'll get this out to you all ASAP so everyone has time to plan. We have also got some interest from the Houston area.

Rob are you thinking we all launch from the same spot or a tailored event?

I am in and Ivie sounds good. I have never fished there, but no problem for me. I think it's about a 3 hour drive from Austin for me. These types of things are mostly about someone just willing to take the time and run it.
Set the date, time, place, and rules. They will come!!
Heremes started KATS back in 2007. He has helped me with my TNT and Dusk Till Dawn events. So we have scorecards and other files that will be needed. However, if you have everything, that's fine too, but I'm here to help if needed.
Maybe the north guys just give us central texas guys our trophy now and we call it a day. JK

So way down here in San Antonio we have a few yaks. Can we come and play? I'm not sure we have light enough tackle.
Have Fun
