You should be very proud of your boat man... I felt the same way. I had a 93 procraft with a 90 horse mercury. Top speed about 33 mph. 17ft long and felt like a bathtub. I was sure proud of that boat. I traded it in on a zx200 and love it and very proud of it. I got tired and jealous of seeing everyone else running around in new skeeters at 70mph plus. Youre in college dude. Your still young. Be patient, take good care of whats yours and dont worry about what others have. Your boat is just fine and from those pucs it looks like you can cs catch fish out of with no problems...

Ain't nuttin wrong with that boat. It looks like my first one, I caught a ton of fish out of it. I am on my third boat (Tracker) which has had almost all of my 5lb plus smallmouth and my biggest largemouth in it.
About not winning any tournaments out of it, don't be too sure. I know of some guys that rented one like it and used a aerated cooler and won the tournament against the guys that had all of the glass stuff.
With that said man I to want to upgrade to a new Skeeter bad, but I think I might keep my Tracker to fish the small lakes that have hp restrictions on them.
One bit of advice, just wait until you can afford it and use it. I know this kid that just got a new one in May and it is for sale now because can't afford to fix his truck and make payments on his boat.
Hang in there man it will happen. Good luck!!!

this is my boat which sucks but I love her because it floats and since its too tough to fish a lake with I am selling it in the classifieds but for you guys that have nice boats please appreciate what you have. I know I will once I get me a decent one but for now I can't take the trouble of mine...Too hard to fish. You guys that have boats are fortunate Why don't you bolt a plywood deck onto the 2 front seats?

We tried raising the deck with seats. It became too windy and made the boat unstable with weight. Stand up or swim lol. Not for people who crappie fish. Haha

Louie I still have and run a 93 Procraft 18'. Yes it's slow but it sure knows where the fish live. Might upgrade to a 2003 model on it's 20 birthday.
And I also still have my flat bottom tin boat. Won a lot of money in that little boat fishing pond tournaments.

Not going to win any tourneys with that rig but it'll get you on the water!
Why couldn't he win a tourney in that boat? Does a fish care what it looks like and/or if it has the latest in electronics? I think not!

I beleive the majority of fishermen started out in a similiar way...I know I did...16' Skeeter to a 21' Skeeter....took four boats and a number of years...live your life right and work hard and you will get there....in the mean time, I don't know where Ttown is but your more than welcome to back seat in mine if you want...

If it floats and you have a trolling motor, I'm not seeing what the problem is. My first boat was an inflatable sevylor, I moved up to a pelican bass buster (which I fished on lake with) then I moved up to a 16' xpress with a 50hp johnson, and now I'm at an 18' Triton aluminum with a 115hp merc.
They all floated and they all caught fish...it's a lot better than fishing off the bank.

Funny thing is... you'll never forget that first boat. Mine was a jon boat sunk in four feet of water. I got it out of the water, painted it florescent orange... built a casting deck out of plywood and covered it with astro turf. No trolling motor... I built a motor out of a weed eater and a trolling motor prop. I never.... never took it out and didn't have to paddle it back in. I'll never forget that boat.
Fast forward thirty years and Tammi and I are taking delivery of our new Ranger in just a few weeks. Don't be in a hurry and enjoy where you are in life.
