This is the kind of news none of us ever want to hear, especially the passing of one of our fellow friend/angler. Not enough ever said about BIg Mack's character and heart, but it shows by all the posts among us.
You will be missed Big Guy...Rest well and gas doesn't cost anything up there...fish on!!!
Prayers to you and all your loved ones!!!

Big Mack - what a great guy!! When we think of him these words come to mind: determination, positive attitude, kindness, incredible sense of humor, honesty, enthusiasm for life and family man - oh, and a great crappie angler!! He was one of a kind - we've missed him at CAT events over the last year, but his impact on the club and our lives will continue. Thanks Big Mack for being a part of our lives!! Our prayers go out to your loved ones for their loss. We are happy for you that you are free of pain and sickness and enjoying the eternal fishing trip!!

Your friends,
Jay Don and Rhonda

Sad news. BIG MACK and I swapped our GPS locations on Grapevine a few years ago. Because of this, he helped me a lot when I was first starting out. He has a big hand in the success of my fish catching. I still use his spots today.

Big Mack, you will be missed by all - except the fish!

I always enjoyed shooting the bull with Big Mack. He was always joking and having a good time. A truly great man and a pleasure to be around.

That was a great time for sure Lucas, great memories with Mack.

I was lucky enough to share other good times with Mack on the tournament trail...

I recall the last time I was visiting with Mack and Paul at the Livingston tourney last year, what a great time..
I could tell by the enthusiasm in both of their voices that they were on to something great while talking to them after pre fishing.
They were so generous in sharing most of what, where, and how they caught their fish... true sportsmen!
They shared everything except their specific location.

It helped me in my fishing the next day and was so happy to hear their names when they won first place!

He will be missed greatly and I am happy to have been considered a friend.

Loved the way he posted his messages on the forum, always a great read that would bring a smile to your face..

Rest in peace my friend and thanks for all your advice and tips!

Prayers go out to the family.... Mack was a GREAT GUY!!

Unfortunately, I didn't know Mack and after reading all of this post, realize what a good man I missed getting acquainted with while he was here.
His legacy is a testiment on how to live while we are here and I'm sure his family and friends realize he didn't live in vain. It sounds like he was a model we should all emulate, as best we can. Good men are not easy to find and it appears Mack was one of the best. I think we can all only hope to be rememberd like him.
I pray God gives comfort to his family and that his passing won't be forgotten.
