I have a 2006 Lowrance LMS 332-c. Looking for a Navonics card or compatible that has Southern US Lakes. Lowrance tells me that the current SD cards are not compatible.
If you have one and will sell it, email me with your price.

I am really serious about pulling the trigger on the HDS 10 Gen 2 but the ones at Cabella's only had 8 palettes. From what I could tell, #6 was the only really usable color. Does the HDS 10 Gen 2 have a #9 palette and is it the blue palette. I don't understand why there are so many palettes and most of them are not that usable. Please let me know what you think. I really need some help in what direction to go. And do you think that the images on the HDS are better than the Humminbird 1198 or are they about the same. Lot of money on the line and I have looked at both and still don't know which way to go.

Yep tough call! I own 2 hds units and plan to buy a bird when the new updated 998's come out. Not sure why the graph is missing blue? Both my gen 1 & 2 have #9 blue. Some of the other colors work at diff times but to be honest I use 9, 6 and the bright green one the most. Sometimes the red one is good In full sun. Buy the one you can figure out how to work.

The bad thing is if you only have their demo running to judge the detail in the images then they both look pretty good but the real question is how do they do when put to work. I have spent so much time in the stores messing with these that I don't think that I would have a problem operating either one. I just sold my 898 because I really need a bigger screen with my crapola eyesight

Both work great but if you only fish shallow water go with the bird. It has a wider span on 455. Each has pros and cons.

This has probably been asked but I can't find it. I just got started with an HDS8 Gen2 w/ LSS2 and it's GREAT. I'd like to save some sonar/structure scan logs to a memory card but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I don't doubt it's something simple I'm missing. Anybody wanna jump in? You can get that on the sonar menu under log data. You have to tell it where you want it to log by highlighting and choosing an sd card insted of internal. Be sure to highlight all channels or you will only get 2d sonar.

I bought a used 95 Ranger with Lowrance units. One is old and the web site says downloads are availalbe for it. The last owner said he never did update downloads. Can you tell me what cord/cable I would need for a Lowrance unit?? I have always used Hummingbirds before so Lowrance is new to me. I am in the proces of downloading the owner manuel but did not see anything in it on line about updates.
Thank you..

Does the unit you have have a card slot. If it does, then you download the update to your computer and save it to the SD card. When you put the card in the unit and turn it on, it should automatically install the update. If your unit does not have a card slot, then someone on here with more experience than I will need to help you. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. Yes it has a card slot. Another friend told me the same thing, load the card then the unit will upload on start up.

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the distance you are scanning to each side of the boat where you can scan farther to one side than the other? Say if im scanning parallel to the bank 40' from the bank, then bank is on my left side with some deep water to my right. Is there a way I can change settings to scan say 30' left and 60' right? Just curious about this because this past weekend I was in a situation simular to this and felt I was wasting a lot of my screen on the left side of my boat and not getting as good of detail on the right. I know a simple way to fix this would be to keep the boat a little farther off the bank and scan equal distances to each side but I was wanting to use my downscan in a certain depth range.

One of our Lowrance HDS 5's will not power on. Lowrance said it would cost 3 or 4 hundred to fix. Any other ideas on getting it fixed?

Do you have pics you can post of your install and the location of the LSS transducer ?
Does the Gray side change on you screen if you go in to the unit and "flip left right" signal ?
