Decided to go do something I have done since I was a kid. Since it was hot and I really didn't want to be out all day I broke out my cane pole and picked up a basket of crickets and headed out to fish the way my grandfather taught me. He fished his whole life like this and it really brought back memories. I also wanted bring home something good for the table. My goal was 6 nice bluegill and I got 7 enormous ones.

There's something unhurried and relaxing about watching bream being caught. Nice job on the video as usual, Mike.

You know I've come to expect great videos from you and this one was no different. Reminds me of the fact that I need to slow down and go back to my roots. Very,Very nice!!!

Thanks, and you know the very thing that got me into fishing from a kayak was the simplicity. But, my nature is usually not to keep things simple and the more and more I got into it the more time it takes loading and unloading rigging etc. I was nice just to get out and be simple. When i got home from that trip I was pretty jazzzed. The guy that got me into kayak fishing had it down from a simplicity stand point. Now he has a PA and is all rigged up like I have my cuda rigged up. He still keeps his sit dagger for the simple times. WE both make comments how what we changed the very thing that got us into kayak fishing in the 1st place. Don't get me wrong I still like my rigged up Kayak, but it really felt good just to sit back and take it easy.

That was an awesome video, those gills are just unreal. I fly fish with ultra lite 2 weight rods. Fish like that give a tremendous fight on the fly rod. Could you PM me too?
