If you want to keep it simple the flipping pattern is pretty strait forward. If you can flip and the wind cooperates just a little bit, you're going to have a lot of fun.

What jd said but if you get on them it will be the trip of a lifetime. Out of three days I would plan on at least one being spectacular. Just make sure you have enough battery the wind can be tough but can help the fish. My last trip we took three sets of batteries and killed them each day that was late April with 30 wind all day though.

It is about 8.5 hours from my house and the drive was horrible. as soon as we saw the welcome to Zapata TX sign, we drove to the boat ramp to meet a couple other guys in the bass club. They had already caught a 10+. I thought it was going to be 10+'s the whole weekend. My biggest fish was about 5lb. It was a different experience. I would go again. for sure. The only way I can explain falcon is. Think back to your best fishing in a pond. Falcon fishing is like fishing a gigantic pond. YOU WILL CATCH A LOT OF BASS! some people get lucky and catch huge ones. Dont be fooled by all of the posts on there of pigs and expect that if you make the trip that you will catch one. you have a really really really high chance of catching one there but its not guaranteed like you see all of the people on here posting. If you have the money and time I say go and enjoy yourself. Do not be worried about the drug cartel or whatever. We were safe and so were the other bass fisherman. just don't be stupid and get nosey and you will be fine.
1 more thing. bring a ton of money. you will want to stop at Falcon Lake tackle. its a really cool place.

If you're going to make that drive, I'd suggest at least one day with a guide. Totally worth it though. You'll probably have a trip of a lifetime. +1!!!

U should come to Falcon then go fish Sugar!! LOL The only way to judge if it is worth it or not is to put in the time, then ask yourself after the trip is over. I know many that are very happy at the end of there trip, and many that swear it was a waste of time. It all depends on you and ur ability.

Drove down there on a Sunday, fished Monday and drove back home Monday evening. About 20 hours on the road and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Three years ago a partner backed out on me the day before a planned trip. Drove down on Friday night solo. Fished an hour and a half on Saturday morning. Caught a 7, a 6 and then caught my PB at the time of 10-3. Had a boat close by take a pic for me...headed to the county ramp, loaded up and came home. 15 hours driving, one hour fishing. Do have a family to come back to though, and the only reason I was going was to break the DD mark.
