Maybe a cloaking device for bass boats are in order. I read the post about "sarcasm", but I had to do it.
I read this post earlier this morning and really had a difficult time understanding what the angler did wrong. Maybe the spot was known to the angler and waited until you left? Maybe it is a community spot? It's a public lake. Everyone is allowed to graph and fish where they please, community or "secret" location.
+1 Jake B. Agreed and who's to say he hadn't already been there earlier in the day, which should be totally irellevent since it "is" public water..........

Stop whining and take it to the hill or take it to the house. Chances are you got a little gravy on your chin if you can't catch them anywhere else. Ain't nothing wrong with lappin up a little gravy, but whiners usually end up with nutz on their chin. And....Fella's..... that ain't good!

Um seriously there's things that people do out there far worse than graph a damn spot seriously people grow up I used to be proud to be part of a forum where we all had one thing in common FISHING !!!!!!!!! For god sakes can't we all just grow up and stop making a big deal out of nothing sure it's frustrating but it's not anything to loose sleep over or at worst (your life ) because I bet you if any one person casted a line directly under his boat or bost path there might be a 15lbs under this guy it really isn't that big of a deal I would personally love to be there catching a 10lbs under that guys boat but since I dont have a boat I guess I could not do that GROW THE F#&k up people
Just my 2 cents

Feels like winter in here, got a bunch of people that need to go fishing...
Regardless, I think it is pretty low to sit on you until you leave then fish your hole. Nothing illegal about it, but is that what fishing has come to? Odd.

Damn there needs to be a separate section in the bass forum.

More and more people feel as if they own the lakes these days! IMO he could of scouted the site and was waiting to get in when you finished up It's not a matter of 'owning' a lake and no it's not illegal but it shows a lack of courtesy that used to be part of fishing. Hovering over someone just to get their spot is cheap and it shows a lack of creativity. There used to be a time when being a gentleman, with integrity meant more then a fish. I love doing the little club tournaments, but turning fishing into a paid sport has changed it. Some of the changes are good, but this is an example of how it has changed it for the worse. Yes Fork is a crowded lake and sometimes it gets cozy but that's no excuse. Let's try to be polite and cooperative so we can complain about skiers and jet ski's instead of other fisherman. One enemy is enough!

Let me make sure I understand this... you were fishing a spot on the lake and this individual was staying 100 to 200 yards away while you fished it. You then leave and he proceeds to the spot. Can somebody advise me when public lakes became so private?
If you were there and he comes over and throws right on top of you, you would have a legitimate gripe... at least ethically.
What if you were fishing a stretch of bank and he was trailing you by 100 to 200 yards? At some point he's going to end up where you were fishing eventually.
Maybe its just me, but giving a man a spot all to himself (with 200 yards worth of breathing room) sounds pretty damn reasonable to me. If you ever TRULY get cut off, you might as well quit fishing because I doubt you'll be able to recover. yup

Odd. it aint his hole... its mine, yours, his and the other guys... it was his til he left. Lake Fork aint a private lake last time I checked. He got 100-200 yards away. He prolly fished there before. Most jackwads would've moved in right on top of him which is a regular thing on the private Lake Fork.... With that being said, if I saw someone sitting on a place I fish, I get pizzed, and keep on going.... cuz its my dang lake and my dang fishin spot! I dont wait around on them to leave....

I had a guy do the same hing to me last weekend in a Yak. It made me mad but it was public water. I don't think it's the right thing to do but 200 yards? Come on man! If you need that much room all to yourself to catch fish then got to Kroger. This sums it up the best IMO.

Still doesn't make it right but certainly not something worth getting bent out of shape over.

was it me? I often keep an eye on what is going on around where I am fishing. Birds on the shoreline. Ripples of bait in the water, other boats. It's all in the game of what is known as "Fishing at Fork".
But then I don't make a habit of electronically marking waypoints at all. But I do look sometimes to see what that guy was fishing.
Put is in my 60 year old brain and forget it in a month or two.
So I guess it wasn't me.

what dont make it right? the fact that the guy caught one as the other guy was stopping? we just assume thats why the other guy stopped right? I understand what youre saying... I dont stop cuz I see a guy catcha fish nor do I wait around for someone to leave. I'll go somewhere else and check on that spot later if its a spot I regularly fish... I dunno. It couldve been worse and has been worse out there for me. As bad as not even being able to throw out without landing my lure in someone else boat. the length of a football field is plenty of room for another person to fish though...
