I believe that the 360 would be fantastic if it were cost effective. The HB-1198 Unit would be $2500 & 360 would be an additionaal $2000. You haft to be able to make money with it (Guiding, Turnaments, etc) to make it pay. And fishing turnaments you would need to be good (making $$$), not just some one who goes and fishes them. OR have enough money to just throw out $5000 on 1 piece of fishing gear and not worry about getting a return on your investment.

I do know that their are a lot of people that make more money than me, but even if I made enough money, I would haft to justify it, and I JUST WANT ONE would NOT be a justification, IMO.

I can see the advantages without a doubt, but the justification just can't get me there. A few years ago it was SI/DI for NO additional money, or just the cost of the SI/DI Unit, which was a little more, and I guess we gave a little more for those. But now it is $2000 extra, on top of the $2500 for a unit to read the 360. The only thing I could come close to justifing the money on these units, would be the FREE up-grade (download to SD Card) that would allow my HB-1198 to read the 360.

So, I guess with the SI/DI it gave me options to really see more clearly the bottom, and what was actually there. But, all I can see that the 360 would do for me that the SI/DI doesn't do, is let me see 150' or 50 yards forward. I don't think it justifies the cost for that single function, that the SI/DI won't do.

Maybe it's just me, but for $2000 above the cost of the HB-1198, Hummingbird needs to bring more. Again, I think it is a heck of a piece of gear, just not $2000 worth.

Your present 1198cSI is compatable with the 360. Software to operate it will be released FREE when the 360 is available.

If you have your unit software up to date, you have a RADAR menu now if you add the RADAR antenna.

So how much money will that save me? ? ?

Is the HB-1198 less money or the 360 less money ? ? ? Or are we talking about any other up-grade they let you download onto a SD Card, which are free anytime they have a up-grade.

You stated this "The only thing I could come close to justifing the money on these units, would be the FREE up-grade that would allow my HB-1198 to read the 360."

I gave you the justification to spend the $2000 for the 360.

The units that are compatable with the 360 have been posted since the Bassmasters Classic.

360 Imaging will work with any 798ci HD, 898c, 998c or 1198c. It can be shared over an Ethernet Network to unlimited number of units as long as they are all connected via Ehternet Hubs. Have two current SI units you can share via Ethernet Hube to both. All that will be required is updating unit software on units alread y in the field prior to 360 Imaging Release and it can be 360 Imaging Compatible.

360 Imaging is an accessory, like Radar. It does not require you purchase a new unit to use it.

Think he meant upgrade in the way of "the upgrade would be the only thing needed for the 360". Not the extra pole ducer. I might have interpitated it wrong though?

The 360 will be a lot better when they make a tm mounted ducer.
