Moon river I hooked into one of those birds fishing with a 12 inch live shad and thought I had a whopper on until it popped up 15 seconds into fight!! It was scary when I took the hook out!
Keep em tight!

Hey guys I'm a fishing noob and have hit up Denison dam about 10 times in the past two months with little luck. I've tried up top and down below, but I've never seen the dam generate. I live an hour away and usually get there around 5:30 AM to beat the heat, and since that's when the action seems to be best (before 8:30 AM).
If anyone would want to fish with me sometime I'd appreciate some company and some advice! Maybe show me what I'm doing wrong. I feel like my biggest limitation right now is not being able to cast far enough. I see them hitting the top every morning that I go, I just can't cast very far.
Anyways my name's Robert, I'm a pretty normal 25-year old guy, and I won't talk your ear off.
Shoot me a PM if anyone's sick of going alone - especially during the week! Quit my job a month ago so I'm always down to go during the week.

Wish I would have known you were coming up this morning I would have joined you instead of sleeping in.. I really haven't seen the big girls in there like we normally do this time of year I've only counted a hand full in the 15# range but I haven't run any big live baits yet.

That sounds about right I hadn't seen anything in the 25+ range but every day is different... It'll take a big livey to get one of those girls to eat or just the perfectly place bait at the right time.
