@Brad, I left because I didn't want to get soaked or struck by lightning. Didn't give the wind a chance to assist. lol @Cody, Nice as usual. Gotta love to LMB action. @Slade, awesome sir. I know how it feels to get gun shy about setting the hook. Sucks 100%, but at least you got a lot of good action. @Dblaow, I am not sure. Wish I could help. Caught this pretty thing on the usual within 30 mins of fishing. Overall, today was a good day... lol Been busy, which had forced me to abandon fishing fix for a while...

Daddy Wilson what kind of line is that on your spinning rod?
Nice bass. Looks like some of you have been finding them!

Ty... I switched my line to 20# hi vis Power Pro (only brand I could find around here with Hi Vis in-store) braid with mono backing and 10# fluoro leader. Still getting used to the lighter line since I switched from straight fluoro, but it does help with both seeing and feelings hits. I don't think I would have gotten that last bass without it as I was able to see the line jump as soon as he hit it. With fluoro, I would depend on the fish swimming with my worm or hope to feel tension when giving a jerk or pull. Anyone else here ever try braid w/ fluoro/mono leader? I know I definitely eased up my drag setting to reduce the chance of ripping the hook from the fish.

@ at Daddy Wilson I use 10# Power pro braid with no mono backing or other and love the stuff yes you have to change your hook set. I like your hi vis line the ones I have are red and green you can't see the line as good as the Hi Vis. The reason why I don't use a mono leader as I like the chance on getting back my $4.00 + crank baits off them logs. Some wold say that I am ripping the hook out of the fishes mouth with this setup. I think its just a matter of setting the hook with a quick snap and not try to pull the plug from the lake LOL.

@Brad, Awesome! I plan on working my way down to 10#. Takes some getting used to especially in the wind. Braid definitely helps reassure lure recovery from snags. Lighter drag setting/hooksets plus patience while the fish fights will prevent ripping the hook.

I think your on the right track. Wind don't affect me so much as the memory in mono in the wind for me is bad. The braid just don't have them loops and when you cast it and retrieve it in loose line fishing and in the wind mono sucks. Don't get me wrong get a wind not in braid and well have a good sharp knife with you. As to fish fight well I like to work them to the point they are done. Others would want to get it in real fast to release the fish. You have seen the way I fight a fish and that one got off but I did not horse it in I like to enjoy the fish fighting. Loose drags are fun love to hear the drag sing on any fish!.

Yessir. I hear ya on the wind loops. I'm just used to pulling my line tight after casts now no matter what line I use. Agreed. Gotta have some form of cutting utensil w/ braid.
Yes, you do enjoy the fight, which certainly is fun. You had two put up a pretty good fight, but that last one got off as soon as it made made that run at the bank. Those hurt my heart. lol

I know this doesn't fit the topic, but since I've seen most people on here post pics of fish they've caught, I figure I can trust your opinions. Any of you ever try the Grandebass rattlesnakes in Denton ponds? Any reviews would be appreciated. Thanks.

I dont use very many worm brands other than the berkley line. The berkley powerbait worms and gulp line in my humble opinion outfish the other brands
