So, you hear that it is not true if you don't have a picture. As I fish alone most of the time, how do I take a decent picture of a big fish without laying her down on the boat floor?

I suggest a camera mount. Or even better... a video camera!

Only way I can do it is to hold it out with one hand and snap the pic with the other..always good to leave the lure in for size relation since most pics taken by yourself will be from a funny angle

So, you hear that it is not true if you don't have a picture. As I fish alone most of the time, how do I take a decent picture of a big fish without laying her down on the boat floor? Great question! Here's what I figured out. I take my iPhone and start a video and put my phone down on the dashboard so it's pointed at me. Then I do my glamour pose with the fish ![breakdance breakdance](/forums/images/graemlins/default/1995_breakdancing.gif) , throw her back and stop the video. Then later, watch the video and when it comes to the right spot, pause the video and screen shot the screen. Then you have a pic of you and your fish! Then just delete the video so you don't look like a weirdo. Tight lines, Jackson

If u have a IPHONE down load a timer camera app. Do the reverse camera and set the timer. U can then see the screen shot before its taken. Works good for me.

I extend my pedestal seat all the way up and have a rig I made out of a bungee cord I can hook the fish onto.....the seat provides a frame of reference and the fish is back in the water fast

Camera timer apps are available for android and iphone. I simply lean the camera somewhere on the boat (usually the middle or back seat) hit the button and in 5 or 10 seconds it takes a pic. As mentioned above, the video trick is a good idea too, but the camera timer activates the flash so better in low light conditions.

A tripod works good, using either the timer or a wireless trigger. If it's just a point and shoot camera, a Gorillapod works well using the camera timer.

You can also take a pic with a scale. Here's my current PB for this year: ![](http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb70/AdanVJr/7a928df1.jpg)

When I'm fishing solo, I use the front camera on my phone. I just hold the fish with my left hand and hold the phone in the right and take the pic. Good thing is you can see the pic before you take it. The pics come out ok, but they make the fish look bigger. ![thumb thumb](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cup.gif)

Like this What bait is that? Looks like an old Bomber with a new body. Custom painted mud bug. Now retired after too many big mean pigs like this.
