Ok, so I installed my transducers today but I think I might have a problem. How much lower does my LSS2 transducer need to be. I think where it is mounted, it's going to read the other transducer. I'm just really limited on places to mount my stuff. I called the guys at transducer saver and they said that a 2" spacer is the largest they sell. Will this be enough to eliminate interference?

I believe you will have some blockage of starboard side scan imaging with the transducers positioned that way.

Best thing to do is get on the water and test it. The extender plate from TSS may help but you really need to see how bad it is first before doing anything else.

Looking for some insight on adjustments for my HDS10. Took it out for the first time on the new boat (kayak) and not happy with the images. So before I go screwing around with every imaginable setting, can you guys provide me with a few pointers? This is traveling at about 3-3.5mph

Here are a few images I took. Looks to be a lot of clutter.

Here is my current transducer placement. When in the water it sits 3-6" below the surface depending on how I have the boat loaded.

Thanks in advance smile

Looks like your unit is in night mode. I would turn that off.

The install looks fine so I don't think you have any issues there. Try palette # 9 and turn your contrast down to around mid 60's on the Structure scan and see what you think.

Yep is was in night mode. I went out and turned that off and changed palette's. I will give that a try. Anything else I need to use as a "starting point"?

These are my other settings:

noise rejection: low
surface clarity: off
scroll speed: normal
frequency: 800
structure surface clarity: low
structure noise rejection: on

Those are good starting points and everyone has their own personal preference on settings. I run sensitivity close to 0 on 2D sonar as I prefer very little "clutter" on my screen. If I can follow my drop shot as it sinks to the bottom, that's good enough for me. I only want to see predator fish and bait fish.

Spend some time on the water making those changes so you can see immediately how it affects your screen and whether or not it's what you want.

I've asked this question several times (not on this thread) and still cant find the answer. I have an HDS 7 and would like to view sonar+downscan+chart, all on the same screen and cant get this view to come up. It is not an option from the "pages" screen and am wondering if there is another way to view this on my screen? Any input would be appreciated!

I know on a HDS 10 you can do this by selecting the sidescan+sonar+chart. When all 3 come up make sure your sidescan window is selected and then change the sidescan to downscan only. I do the last step using the softkey in the bottom right corner. I know your 7 dosnt have softkeys but you should be able to look through the menus and find it somewhere. Hope this helps.

I believe you can go to the screen you want. Hold the pages button down to highlight that particular screen then go to menu.

This has probably been asked but I can't find it. I just got started with an HDS8 Gen2 w/ LSS2 and it's GREAT. I'd like to save some sonar/structure scan logs to a memory card but I'm having trouble figuring it out. I don't doubt it's something simple I'm missing. Anybody wanna jump in?
