Crappie nibbles require you to set the hook on a timely manner or else breams became nibble thiefs. If you can't find crickets, use RAW bacon fat!!!

One more thing... Use #10 LONG shank hook!

I ran into this yesterday afternoon on one of my 18' piles. I put a 1/32 ounce jig on...split shot above the jig to get it down quicker...and then for bait, I took a tube jig...cut off all the little tentacles on the end of the jig and put one on the hook "wacky" style...kids ended up catching the heck outta those bream wink

Maybe some big ones are down there, they are great eating and fight like crazy.

I have a bag of really white mister twister curly tail grubs 1", with a 1/64oz jig head, they like it. They always eat worms too.

I could tag along and clean em out of those brush piles for ya. wink

i developed my current crappie killin techniques because of big bluegills jacking my bait in about 20 foot of water 30 years ago........got down to like 3 minnows .....not happy.....ran out of hooks ....only had little jigs.....a 1/32 or 1/64 oz. lead heads ......a very tiny pc. of your dead minnows and bingo slay em ......pssssst and just in case you didnt know there are crappie in there with them bream for sure ......once you wear them bream down a bit , you will start to catch the crappie...been there done that ......caught a mess of crappie the last time i was serious bream fishin just this year in 18 foot of water ....never put on a minnow or a rubber body .....just them lil pcs. of night crawler .....15 crappie 35 bream ......time to go home the ice chest is full

Get yourself an UL combo set up with 2-4lb. stren or brand of choice, fashion it with a 1/32 oz jig or a cricket and harvest them Man.Get them going in the Peanut oil until their little tails are as crispity & crunchity as Lays surround them with some Ore Idas or steak fries and a nice fresh salad.Chase it with a ice KOLD adult Beverage (if you are so inclined ),Kick back on the Sofa or the back porch watch the sun go down and count your Blessings.Life is GOOOOOD

I catch bream by the hundreds whenever I fish for them. I do this at lake Texoma every year. Fillet size bream. If you are fishing for crappie and getting alot of bream bites, I would move to a different location and depth. Check you sonar and you should be able to see the size of the fish in the school. Crappie will show up different than the school of bream. The bream might look like bait fish in a tight ball. The crappie will stand out as bigger fish on a BP or on timber with alot more color and size to the fish you are seeing on sonar. If nothing else. catch the bream and fry them up. They are some good eating fish and alot of fun to catch.
