No, it's NOT the *ONLY* way to go. Thank goodness we still have some choices.
Sometimes we want something that actually works. A four stroke on my flats boat would be a pig slopping around in the mud. They just don't have the snap torque a two stroke does, plus the weight difference is not a small thing when you're in three inches of water and it's time to go.
YOU might never be in that situation, but that doesn't mean someone else might not be.
