I think i missed my PB test on the 4th of July....i Was Slow Rolling on the bottom through Hydrilla and BOY I MUST TELL ya!!! She hit that bait like LIGHTNING!!! And i sure was not prepared for her....i was using a 5/0 straight shank Hook and a blk/Chartreuse tail (zoom) 6' Lizard on 14lb test(Big Game)....Im heading to Academy 1st thing in the am and changing my whole Arsenal....Im thinking a 7/0 wide gap this time on a Mag Zoom....maybe JuneBug color....any more opinions on a evening day of fishing headed towards night? When i get her I'm for sure posting the pic....When she's pulling drag I'm sure its a DD....Advise is needed Fellas thanks

I was throwing a 8" zoom worm with a 5/0 trokar and missed 2 out of 6 hits the other day at Buffalo. 7/0 to me would seem to big and might kill some of the action.jmo

I'm thinking more about the line weight than the hook size. You should be fishing at least 20 lbs. Big Game at night over hydrilla.

By the way, how sharp was the hook? If you don't check factory hooks, you will be in trouble.

You may have stumbled upon one of the rare Largemouth Blue Cats instead of the more common Largemouth Bass species! wink

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

Hook is too big. You didn't get hook penetration. Use an Owner Wide Gap Plus in 3/0.

Courage - knowing something will hurt and still doing it.
Stupidity - knowing something will hurt and still doing it.

That’s why life is difficult
