I read this today on another thread.
If you have the trolling motor and Lowrance unit on the same power source then you need to run a separate wire for the Lowrance.

I run my Troll motor a Minn Kota 30lb thrust thru a 12v deep cycle marine battery(36 lbs) and use a 12v UB1250 or UB1280(1 lb)to power my Lowrance unit.I also run a nite lite thru the small battery and have had no prob at all. I have fished all night long with this set up and have yet to use the paddle.

The small UB batteries are rechargable and really hold onto a charge BTW

So you are using two batteries then.
One for the TM and one for the FF.

Well I don't use two batteries for the TM and The FF. Its simple Math do the math I go all day on the battery with the TM and the FF. Don't get me wrong when I am done the battery needs a good charge. If I keep on the streams then I may see the need for two batteries just as I may want to get back to the dock. TM and FF can be done on one battery Simple FF used......

1+1=2 GOOD FOR YOU & CONGRATULATIONS!!Sure you may have need for only one batt but My post was just an option for the guy that was having problems with his FF cutting out on him and didn`t know why.Maybe he was getting interference or something I don`t know exactly but my option was geared towards him not you DPJ.

I am now thinking that the "high draw" units need their own batteries or at the very least, their own connection to the single battery.
The last time I was using "state of the art" equipment it was a Lowrance X-70.
And now I fish ponds, so all my needs are met with knowing the depth, temp and battery volts.

Haha. Slide when? Are you taking hard left and right turns and putting up that wake LOL or is it maybe your not taking it out when you load and unload them boat from the truck. My battery don't slide when used on the lake, pond ECT.

Oh and in a boat like this first I would think of is wide velcro tape. I don't like to drill holes in the bass hunter type boats.
