Unfortunately the thugs around here know the cops don't have the manpower to deal with the problem. A friend of mine who has a lake house down here was hit for about $100k. Including a safe full of guns. Very little investigation or effort. It's sad.

Theives dont give a carp who it is they steal from or how nice the might be. Things have been getting carried away on Fork for awhile now and untill somebody gets caught and made an example of we can exspect to keep seeing threads just like this one. Between the vandles and people acting like spider monkeys hopped up on Mountain Dew I have cut my visits out there to day trips during the middle of the week.

They certainly seem to have the manpower to patrol the area roads to hand out speeding tickets. Maybe they need to re prioritize there enforcement efforts to patrolling the area and not sitting along the highway.

they make money when they give out tickets and they make paper work when they catch a thief and they cant give out tickets if they are at the office doing paper work.its sad but its the truth they don't care its not there stuff that got stolen
its a shame crack heads don't have a thing for cop car lights sure would be funny to see all the cop cars with no lights running around grin

Not to mention beer stores. Never used to see people walking down the road with a case of beer on each shoulder.

I was at a Honey Hole tournament on Fork years ago at Axton's and some folks trailered back from other ramps and parked along the road going down to the camping/boat ramp area. Someone stole two graphs off of boats in the broad daylight that were parked next to the store, couldn't believe it....
When we had our camp down on Caney Lake in Louisiana, my dad and I used to park our rigs tied up to the bank of our property in the evenings and just leave them there over night if we were going fishing the next morning. My dad was a very light sleeper and he woke up at about 2 am hearing a small outboard engine that sounded like it was coming into the cove our camp was in. He got up and looked out the window and they already had their spotlight light on our rigs even though they were several hundred yards out when he first saw them. He let them come on in and cut their engine and they pulled right up next to our boats. As soon as they started to make their move he turned the back porch light on. They like to have flipped that little jon boat they were in getting back in to it. They left like their tail ends were on fire.......

Someone should set up a "bait boat" somewhere highly visible. East Fork would be a great place! Set it up with all the gear in plain sight. Bet it wouldn't take long before the scumbags make a move for it. Bust their arses right there...film it and then give em a little backwoods justice.

Was at Starmart one day talking about football with a guy and these two sheriffs came down the road real fast (male and female) with sirens on and stopped at the store, turned em off and the male officer came in (about 280 pounds) and calmly walked over and got two Dr Peppers out of the far drink cooler and said he would pay later that they were in high pursuit. Went and got back in the truck and took off with sirens on again. About 15 minutes later came back real slow with sirens off and pulled back in. He walked up to the counter and asked how much he owed for the drinks.
Employee ask if they caught them. He calmly said "nope- didn't get em". Uhhh - I wonder why? Something you would see on Mayberry RFD with Barney Fife.
