Got an email recently and checked the Navionics website. I bought my PREM-S6 chart in March 2011 and registered it about a month later so my freshest data subscription ran out a couple of months ago. To buy that same new card and get a new freshest data subscription would cost me $149. But now Navionics offers the freshest data subscription for $74.50, if you bought your chart after June 2010. I was thinking about getting a new card just so I could keep getting updates, but I'm glad I waited and bought the new subscription for half price! Already downloaded the latest data and now the community layer gets put on my chart too! I know lots of guys on here are not that up on Navionics but I think they work hard to keep my business, so here's a BIG THANKS NAVIONICS for offering the half price freshest data subscription!!!

I just did this upgrade but want to als oget the Navionics PC app. I have not found a way top download the app - do you happen to know how to go about it?

I finally got the app downloaded. I contacted support and they gave me a voucher to purchase the app and it loaded all right. But, I am trying to clean up waypoints and am having problems. When I delete waypoints in Nav PC, the app locks up and Windows gives a Not Responding message and I have to force it closed. Of course, then I lose any changes I've made. This is a random event, happens sometimes after several deletions (9-10) other times after only a couple. The app also is not updating the SD card for my plotter. Has any one else had this problem?

I've had the PC app lock up/not respond a few times, frustrating but it is a pretty good program. Not great but not bad for free with a card purchase. I haven't had any problems sending waypoints to a SD card. I think I had to save them to favorites on the app and send them from there to the card.

I found a way to get my waypoints moved. I delete the hwr file on the SD card (after backing it up), then send the data from the PC to the card. The target file needs to be named DATA.HWR. I tried other names and Humminbird PC doesn't recognize them and I assume the plotter will be the same. It's a bit clunky but it works. The app locking up is a bigger problem. Every time it does it, it corrupts waypoints and creates duplicates. I have to go into it and clean up the data again. Very frustrating and time confusing. I sent a message to their support - hopefully they have some suggestions.

The app is pretty good. I thikn after I get through the break in that it will be very useful. Beats the heck out of Google Earth!
