Do you guys use a swivel on your weightless senko and fluke setups? If so, how far from the bait do you tie it? Thanks.

No!! You dont need a swivel on a WEIGHTLESS senko or fluke or anything else weightless!! Dont need to add the extra 2 knots! But i guess you could if you just wanted to!! I mean you could catch fish like that, but I wouldnt take the extra risk and time to!

What zuma72 said. Tighter the targets the shorter the leader or no leader. If using a fluke in a jerking retrieve always a swivel. It gives the fluke a much more erratic action.

A swivel does give it more action and it also helps it sink a little bit different. I fished a tournament one time and they WOULD NOT hit it unless it HAD a swivel about 12" up. I guess the weight let it fall differently since we were not jerking it. Just t-riging and then letting it fall over the grass. Use a black swivel though so the perch won't peck the shiney brass ones. And JUST a swivel not a SNAP and SWIVEL.

Double edge sword. More break offs with a swivel. More fish with the swivel. I think the swivel helps get the bait down and provides a little better action to the bait. GYCB senkos don't need the extra weight though. I like about 15-18" on the leader.

1/16 or 1/8 oz t rig weight with a bobber stop behind it. Adjust the length of the leader this way and no extra knots. I only do it when the wind forces me too. I prefer completely weightless.

What size swivel do you use with a super fluke?

I agree, have used the split shot rig for years and hate that it roughs the line and moves down the line after a while, the swivel gives you the added weight up line and if you tie good knots should be no problem. Also cures line twist. I only use the swivel on a weightless fluke.

I use them, but you certainly don't have to. I don't do it with senkos, but for flukes and trick worms I always do. For leader length 12-20 inches will do the trick. If you tie too short of a leader with heavy line it will actually ruin the action of the bait. If it is too long then casting can be hindered. Swivels take some babying to get just right, but often make all the difference. Just pay attention to the size of the swivel, generally the smaller and lighter the better. Most line breakage issues happen because the leader is lighter than the main line and does not get retied often because we all get lazy sometimes. It can't hurt to give it a try.

Yes like said before 12 to 18 inches is what I use and not one single problems with knots and shouldn't if you tie your knots right.
