WOW - that's nice. I rode in one yesterday like your original side mod and it did lean - where did you get the center console?

Thank yall! Not bad for only a couple days of work. The hardest part was the rewiring. The boat rides so much better now. no more leaning. If I could have ran it through the floor it would have been nice but the only problem is that the boat was not built for the center console. So there was no easy clean way to run the lines. However they are no problem what-so-ever. Everyone that has been on the boat has no problem with the wire cover. I will see if I can get a picture soon of that too. I love being able to move all the away around my boat. I considered removing the rod holder but I figure it would be nice to be able to lock up my rods when I need to. There were not rivets or welds on the panels that were around the side console. There was already carpet underneath and behind all the panels so that made my life sooooo much easier. Just goes to show the quality of Xpress boats that they take the time to cover the whole boat and pay attention to details. So next on the list is bedliner the console black and cover the seats. Oh yeah and build a lean-to seat. I am trying to figure out what the width of the square tubing that xpress uses for their bay boats on their lean-to seats.

Took the boat out again with a buddy and the boat rides so much better now with the console. I guess the cg is better with the console in the center and moved back a little bit. I would have thought it would have made it harder for it to plane out.

Man, that's awesome. I've got an xpress center console that I'm redoing and i'll be doing a lot of the same things to mine. I'm interested in making that exact lean post and this is the first thread I've found with someone making one.

Any advice on the lean post now that you've used it a while? How wide/tall did you make it and what size tubing did you use?
